Ok, so Renaldo and Renaldino are different guys. Which one is better? I was under the assumption that Renaldo was like on a Pele level for a short period of time, the guys I work with all tell me Renaldino is a better player. Are they right?

Someone feel free to correct me if I'm off base.

Ronaldo in his prime was an amazing goal scorer. Ronaldinho in his prime is/was the best player in the world, capable of scoring as well as controlling the game as a center midfielder. To use a basketball analogy, imagine Ronaldo as one of the best scorers in history, although he wasn't exceptional in any other aspect(passing, rebounding, defense). Ronaldinho is the complete package, excelling in all areas(although scoring less often than Ronaldo) although the analogy breaks down because the volume of scoring is so different in the sports.

Ronaldinho's prime has been much much shorter than Ronaldo's IMO. I don't think he is even the best player on his own team anymore as I would in all likelyhood take Messi over him. I truely don't think I have seen a player dominate a game they way Ronaldo did for the past 15+ years. Ronaldo was the complete striker, size, power, speed, strength, ect. He could beat you anyway possible. I think his complete skill was pretty much hidden in the role he served on every team. He never had to do any of the things that Ronaldinho.

Its pretty much just a choice of personal preference. I don't think you could really go wrong with either choice. If I had to pick I would take Ronaldo.

Ronaldo was better for longer. Ronaldinho was great, but always a little overrated in my opinion. I think it says something that Ronaldinho made little effort to keep himself in form and fit. If I had to build an all-time team, I'd choose Ronaldo before Ronaldinho.

After beating Liverpool, Barnsley gets to host Chelsea in the next round of the FA Cup. That's going to be a pretty hot ticket for Barnsley fans.

In the other games, Man U will host Portsmouth, Bristol Rovers will host West Brom and the winner of the Middlesbrough/Sheffield United match will host Cardiff.

Ronaldo kept himself in shape? Other than that, I'd agree. The competition in midfield for an all-time team makes it an easy pick for Ronaldo. He was a more dominate player at his position for longer. He wasn't exactly elegant up top, but he was deadly. Ronaldinho was a better club player than national team player, not that it matters. Of course, Ronaldo was a veritable deer-in-the-headlights in the 1998 WC Final in France.

Schalke go up early against Porto. I'd like Schalke to show well for the Bundeliga's coefficient. Not that Bayern is going to have any trouble qualifying, but still. Raul puts Madrid up 1-0 on Roma, sorry Seth :(

Drogba is back for Chelsea. Terry and Lampard on the bench. Playing a 4-5-1.

Update - Roma with the equalizer.

Matterazzi just sent off for his 2nd yellow card at the 29th minute. He deserved the second card, but the first he didnt really do a whole lot.

That guy is a stupid foul machine. If this is the reason Inter blows it this year, that's going to be a dick punch to the fans.

After seeing the replay some more I don't think the second one should have been a card either. But I will take it and hopefully Liverpool can come out and get a win today out of it, cause they were given a huge break.

Liverpool has to take advantage now. They really don't want to take a tie back to Milan.

Agreed. I don't think either foul deserved a card on its own. I guess you could argue he deserved the second one as an accumulation of fouls which referees do sometimes but that still should have only been his first yellow of the game.

Liverpool got a huge break and they have to take advantage of it. If they can't win this one, they don't deserve to advance to the next round.

Torres should have put Liverpool up. Now Hyphia too. Liverpool has to score.

Wow. Those were two great chances on goal. At least Torres made the keeper make a save.

Liverpool is playing just like they did against Barnsley - they're dominating the game and getting a ton of chances but just can't seem to put one in*.

* Yes, I know they did score one against Barnsley but they should have had three or four at the very least.

About time for Liverpool. They NEEDED that one. A 0-0 tie considering the circumstances of playing 60 minutes up a man would have been unacceptable.
