Another good showing for England this year in Euro. Why are Liverpool and Inter playing next week? Assuming Liverpool advance, having all 4 teams make the final 8 will be remarkable.

I wish I'd have been able to watch this week. It looks like I'll have to settle for recording the one-hour recap show Friday afternoon.

I read from another forum that rules state that the same stadium cannot be used on consecutive days. Since AC Milan's game at the San Siro was Tuesday, Inter couldn't use it today. Liverpool played their make-up game with West Ham instead, and Gerrard negated most of Torres points for my fantasy team.

Ok I see. Thats why they should have seperate stadiums.

Torres now has 6 goals in the last 2 games, 12 in the last 11, and 24 in 33 games overall in a Liverpool jersey. Liverpool is now in 4th ahead of Everton. There is also a lot of talk about DIC buying out Gillette and Hicks. They have supposedly made a 350 million dollar offer that G&H are going to decide on.

Minor nitpick but it's 6 goals in his last 2 home games which is 3 overall games (he didn't score against Bolton on March 2). Two hat-tricks in three games is still really impressive, though. Torres has been great for Liverpool all year long.

Ok, so starting in May the USMNT will play England in Wembley on May 28th, Spain on June 4th in Spain, and Argentina at the Meadowlands on June 8th. We then have a WCQ either the next week or 2 weeks later.

5/28 isn't a FIFA date, but you figure all the EPL Nats would play. Ditto 6/4. Would we then have those guys come back and feature on 6/8?

I don't see how we play our A squad in all 3 games.

On the other hand, you can't schedule competition like Spain and Argentina without plans to bring your A game.

/copa america not withstanding.

Not sure what you meant by "ditto", but 6/04 is a FIFA official match day (as it's the last day of the 5/31- 6/04 window for a maximum of two official games)

EPl ends on 5/11, and the FA cup final is on 5/17, so that first game shouldn't pose a problem either.

Since 6/8 is also an official FIFA match day, you should have any player available you like for at least a week in June (release period for official games being 4/5 days)

The ditto was in reference to the EPL Americans being likely to play during both matches. However, the more I consider it, the more I think that guys like Cherundolo, Dempsey and Bradley would play the England game and the Argentina game, and skip the Spain game. Donovan would probably play the Spain game and the Argentina game.

Anderlecht got blown away by Bayern.

Laurens is going to have a field day at school (full of Anderlecht fans, the stadium being only ten miles away) rubbing it in.

FA Cup this weekend:

Portsmouth at Man United and Chelsea at Barnsley on Saturday followed by Cardiff at Middlesbrough and West Brom at Bristol Rovers on Sunday.

And in other news, Messi is going to miss at least six weeks with a thigh muscle tear that he suffered during Tuesday's Champions League match against Celtic.

Hate to admit it, but I wish United had signed Torres instead of Tevez. Not that Tevez hasn't come up huge in some games (at Anfield, at Lyon) but Torres leading the line and Rooney playing off him would be devastating.

Gah. Nobody wants to think about that.
