Will Carroll at Baseball Prospectus[/url]"]

The Cubs have received some indications that Aramis Ramirez is going to opt out of his contract at the end of the season, putting them in the same situation that the Brewers did before moving Carlos Lee.

Do you blame him? People calling him out fopr not hustling, fans turning on him, not being able to carry the team.

I say deal him to the Angels for McPherson, Aybar & Saunders. I know thats a lot but for the Angels, it would really affect their depth.

i wouldn't blame him. he is probably underpaid in the current market and would clean house in free agency. also, this city just never appreciates certain players and that's a shame.

How about Santana and McPherson?

I think he only opts out if they bring Dusty back.. cause he has had a few disagreeances with Dusty. dont remember specifics... but i do remember hearing about them butting heads.

ceaser izturis: cubs 07 third baseman

I wouldnt mind him if the Cubs got Tejeda. But not as a 3b. I would use him at 2b/

I highly doubt it. Coletti won't trade with the Cubs remember.

And Santana/McPherson is too much to ask for AR.

Don't you hate that? Why can't the fans just let Aramis dog it and put up big numbers when the team is 20 out in peace?

I'm scared for the offseason if Aram does opt out. I see Hendry getting really desperate and throwing tons of money at Carlos Lee. :x

I'm not at all surprised, especially considering all the Aramis rumors.

Adenhart + McPherson for Aramis (that's overpaying on the Angels end, but oh well).

Elbert + LaRoche for Aramis plz.

Joel Guzman and LaRoche could be another possibility. If Aram opts out Guzman would/could supply power that would be missing.

I can't blame a single player on the Cubs if they don't want to be here. I'm sure most of you have been on sports teams before - it's no fun at all playing on a team that's underachieved all year long and that basically has sucked for most of the season.

Anyone who is a "winner" and competitor would absolutely hate coming to "work" everyday for this organization all things considered. I wouldn't want to hear the boos from the fans, I wouldn't be happy with the lack of ability to put talent together etc...

I hope Aramis comes back, but I'm certainly not going to be surprised if he doesn't
