Is there a reason why he is still in the majors? Why isn't Lightenberg or Wuertz up? This guy is horrible and has NEVER proved himself!

Ligtenberg is 35 years old and has sucked in his last two years.

He's nothing special.

Well, at least he is performing at AAA on a consistent basis. Novoa has been hacking it for a year and a half now.

I would rather run guys like Nova, Aardasma, Wuertz out there everday instead of Lightenberg. Pitching a guy like Lightenberg in the Majors right now is the same as playing Phil Nevin in left .Only difference is that Nevin still has some trade vaule.

regardless wuertz should be in the bigs

Wuertz must have said something nasty like "Coach, if walks by pitchers are so bad why don't you want our hitters taking walks?" "Have a nice time in Iowa dude".

Definately. There is no good reason why he shouldn't be up here. He was given one shot at the beginning of the year, which shouldn't really be called that since he only pitched 3.2 innings, and hasn't received another chance since.

Novoa is alright, but nothing special. I think, or more accurately, I HOPE he's up instead of Wuertz because the Cubs intend to use Novoa as part of a trade by the time next season rolls around and are trying to show him off a little bit and they're planning on holding onto Wuertz.

Novoa has continued on his mediocre ways since we got him. When a player really doesn't improve over the course of two seasons, and he's bad to begin with, it's time to fold and get new cards.

The fact that Wuertz is in Iowa and Novoa is up is further proof of Dusty having his "boys." I wish Williamson wouldn't have backtracked and continued to elaborate. I'm sure his thoughts on this could be enlighening.

I was on the fence about Novoa, but he's been stinking it up left and right. With the numbers Wuertz is putting up in the minors, there's no logical excuse to not have him up here.

novoa's young and unproven...yet he somehow has made it into dusty's good graces. there's never been any talk about demoting him, and he's been terrible.

It's been hot too. I don't understand why Novoa is struggling so much. Maybe they are waiting for the weather to cool down to bring up Wuertz ? Must've been why they sent him down in April to begin with. Wherever Dusty's managing in 2014, you'll see Novoa right there with him. It's a match made in heaven.

Everytime I turn on the Cubs (which isn't too often these days), it seems Novoa is pitching.

I'll forever associate this team with Novoa.

That's true Vance--if you recall he called him mini-Benitez last year

Novoa looks funny. I think it's something to do with his neck.

I know it's superficial, but he blinks very oddly, too. Like he's trying not to go cross-eyed.
