He has to go, this team is really bad. they don't make plays, every team runs on their outfield. we can't run the bases, we don't have any enthusium, we can't hit, we especially can't hit with RISP. we don't take BB, I dare anyone to tell me what we do well. Pierre really is bad. Walker has quit, Cedeno needs better coaching, Ramarez is in a year long slump, Jones has very little baseball skills, and as much as I like Murton, he needs to be sent to AAA. Our pitching is another story and I am not really that disapionted, Our coaches are bad, and I blame it all on Baker. He has to go. I don't care who replaces him, just do it and get rid of hald of the team. Neffi, walker, Murton, lead the list

Can't you see that the momentum has changed? Derrek Lee being in the line up has made all the difference. The Cubs have a zero on the score board, but they aren't losing another game this year.

He's going to replace Neifi as the guy who saved the Cubs.

getting rid of baker won't solve much, if anything i'm afraid.

yeah, von joshua would be nice, as would a new pitching coach, but if the players are still horrible then none of that matters.

Give Dusty a break here. The Cubs just didn't bring their speed game like he needed them to. They got picked off three times. They forced the issue, but didn't have the results to show for it. On the other hand, the Twins, boy, they really had the speed game working on the turf. They stole 1 base and walked 12 times. The Cubs walked twice this weekend (both by Walker), and had 25 hits! The Twins had 26 hits! Imagine, we just needed more hits to get that speed game going on the turf. Dusty's boys of Summer would have taken at least one of those games if they'd used the speed game better and gotten more clutch hits! And besides, how are you supposed to get that speed game going if you're beset by injuries ? Bynum, boy, that's huge there and Tony's getting up there. He looked better today though, he almost played! Neifi used his speed though. I mean, that's another shutout today without Neifi's blooper. It would have been an RBI if Murton had stolen 2nd instead of waiting for Blanco to drive him in.

most of the Cub players are now free swingers, I believe that the coaches are teaching the firsst strike seen will be the best one, thid is the most impatient team I have ever seen. murton used to be patient, as was Walker, now none of them are.. IS THAT WHAT THE COACHES ARE TEACHING or all of the Cub players deciding independently that to walk is bad

I'm not a Dusty fan, but Rothschild has GOT TO GO. He doesn't even look like he wants to be there, so let's just do him a favor and give him his walking papers. He's gotta be going through lots of shoes this year, with all the trips to the mound.... BUH BYE.

I feel Baker is going to be fired. I'd like to hear Steve Stone the NEXT time on the score. He's been saying constantly that he thinks Baker will be extended. Yet all of the newspapers and radio are buzzing about how Baker needs to go. You can just feel it (or atleast I can). Baker is gone.

Hendry has to fire Dusty. If not than he has to put the blame on his own shoulders.

He has to put blame on his shoulders regardless if he fires Dusty or not. Dusty is probably the worst manager in the majors but Hendry's just as bad at his own job.

We don't even have our whole team yet. Once Tony Womack and Angel Pagan come back, then we can judge Dusty.
We need to get Bynum and Rusch back as well before we can judge him.

And we have to get Wood and Prior and Miller back. And not have any "kids" starting. Because there have been alot of "kids" starting. You have to remember that.

A team is a reflection of their manager.

Fire Dusty. NOW!

Don't worry, a few more weeks of this crap on the feild and baker will be gone. And trust me they'll still be playing below .500 baseball. If all goes well the move might be made along with the midseason trades during the trade deadline.

I dare anyone to tell me what we do well.

The Cubs are good at sucking and losing.

juan pierre alone makes us the best team at grounding out to 2B. we're also tops at grounding out to the pitcher thanks to Speedy Juan Pierre.

I wanted him to do so well... I feel bad for him almost.

let's just agree that EVERYONE needs to be 100% healthy ALL THE TIME in order to fairly judge dusty. after all, the cubs are the only team in the majors to have injuries. the DL would be completely empty if it weren't for all the cubs on it.

I think you pretty much have to get rid of the rookies and trade them for proven veterans. Then, and only then, can you fairly judge Johnny B. Since Dusty and his staff can't teach these pesky rookies, you need to get some veterans in the mix. I mean, think of how much better the club would be if you replaced Murton with Doug Glanville ? Or, a healthy Rusch for Marshall ? Maybe an Estes for Marmol ? The book is out on these kids, so, better replace them for veterans who've been around this game. Just think of how much better this team would be!

Other managers win with missing players, This manager makes excuses

That's really the point. Sure, there's plenty of blame to go around. But it's pretty clear Baker looked at the injuries and just decided he can't win. He packed it in without really even trying this year.

If that's all it takes to earn $4mil/yr, then someone show me where to sign up.

Whiney Voice: YeAh BUt BaKER sIAd!! "I don't like losses, but I don't get beat down easily," Baker said. "If I was going to get beat down, I would've been beat down a long time ago. You can't beat me down. It won't happen. I've been through too much."

"I know me. I know who I am. I know what I can do. I'm very confident. When things get tough, I get tougher. I'm a tough dude. I've been tough a long time."
