Bruce Levine just announced that David Riske switched the color of his "Sox" today, moving from Boston to Chicago for a minor league pitcher (forgot the name).

Sean and Steve are speculating that, based on his history, they brought him in to replace Tracey and basically to hit someone tonight and take a suspension. Obviously they will have more use for him after he gets back, but thats the initial reason for the trade.

Man, could they be any more flagrant about it?

I have a suggestion. Maybe whoever is batting when Riske comes into the game should just go ahead and charge the mound before the first pitch is ever thrown. Why wait for the pitcher to instigate the inevitable?

Maybe they should call up some scrub that's very large and could crush Riske's skull with his bare hands and then have that guy stand at the plate and yell at Riske to throw at him, because he's ready to retaliate.

Nah, I have a better idea. When Riske hits whoever it is batting, the hitter could turn around and just deck AJ Pierzinski again.

See, I'm full of brilliant ideas.

if he actually comes in just to hit someone, especially after guillen's outburst at tracey last night, then guillen better be suspended for several games as well.

that would be completely classless, but then again, we're talking about the white sox here.

I still can't believe a guy got demoted purely because he didn't hit a batter. The kid (Sean Tracey) had a 3.86 ERA in 4.2 innings. He'd done nothing to deserve going down.

Ecspecially with the way their middle relief has been all year.

Why are people surprise at what Guillen does, anymore? Guillen has clearly gone from outspoken, to reserve a room at Bellevue. Guillen is a not a POS, he is the full thing. If Ozzie is trying to make the White Sox that thug organization again, he doing a great job.

But, man, how I would love to punch Guillen in the face.

He's joining the team on Friday in Cincinatti. Plus I couldn't imagine they hammered out a deal that quickly based on something so flimsy.

I dunno, Boston traded for Wakefield's personal catcher based on basically one game with Bard.

Do ERA and stats really matter after three appearences? Riske is an improvement if healthy and I can't imagine the Sox would deal for him if he wasn't. They already have one young guy in their bullpen.

As for talk they acquire Riske to hit someone, please. That was stupid to think even before they announced he wouldn't join the team until Friday.

He had 10 passed balls in six starts while catching Wakefield. Something needed to be done.
