I'm glad there's off days. It helps me rest up for more profanity laced outbursts.

Tourettes is pretty exhausting, huh?

"tourettes" is not funny. I actually have it. It has nothing to do with swearing. It has constantly to do with blinking and making your eyes so raw, they hurt.

Is it a certainty that Rusch is being skipped, or is it optimism? I'll be there Wed/Thurs, so I'd like to know for sure. :D

Certainty!

Bruce Miles[/url]"]This and that: It looks like the Cubs will skip Glendon Rusch in the rotation instead of pitching him against Houston on Wednesday. Pitching coach Larry Rothschild said the Cubs likely would go with Sean Marshall, Greg Maddux and Carlos Zambrano. …

I like our future:

Z

Marshall

Marmol

Prior (if healthy)

Maddux (I hope they lock him up for two more years)

Why do you want Maddux for two more years, let alone one more year?

Why because he's still good for at least 12 wins a year and I like the repoire he's built with some of the kids like Marshall and Marmol. I'll take back the two year deal and only offer him 1. 2 is a bit much. Z

Seconded

I would rather start Guzman and give Zambrano an extra day off this time through the rotation. He has been heavily abused 3 of the past 4 starts.

Thanks whichever mod fixed the team. Copy/paste jobs at 3 in the morning are bad news.

Agreed, the bullpen is rested and it would be nice to see Guzman get some good work in and give Z some much needed rest.

Ditto.

Frankly, I'd prefer Rusch starting and being awful (since he's more likely to start than Guzman) over Z going on his standard 4 days rest. Z should get an extra day off given the amount of work he's logged the past few starts.

I'm sure Houston would rather see Rusch also.

That's awesome if they're skipping Rusch... that means I get to see Marmol Friday at Wrigley

Does that mean they bump Rusch into Saturday's SP slot? Or would Guzman get the nod? If anyone knows please let me know so that I may either find relief or brace myself for the worst.

I sat through Rusch's shell-a-thon vs the Brewers a month or so ago and am still trying to recover. I can't handle anymore games started by Rusch when I am in attendance. Old Style in 90+ degree weather is hard enough without any accompanying performance by G."Ag-reflex" Rusch.

My favorite Rusch story was at the Cubs/Brewers game I attended on 6/29/05 when Kerry Wood left the game after 6 with the Cubs up 2-1.

It took Glendon two pitches into the 7th to give up a home run to Lyle Overbay and tie the game, giving Wood a no-decision.

On my way home I heard Dusty on the radio saying something along the lines of:

"Neifi is starting at 2nd, hitting 2nd because Pettitte is a veteran and sometimes veterans like to mess with youngsters. Therefore Ronny is hitting 8th."

This would make me upset if the Cubs were playing for something. At this point I only watch for entertainment value, and at least there's a little humor when Neifi plays.

He's obviously doing it for shock value or something. No one is that dumb

Meh, just means we'll be getting a higher draft pick next year. Fine by me.
