Does anyone remember when MANY Cubs fans here and at cubs.com were just dying to get this guy?

 

Maybe this is a case where Hendry actually was more wise than he's given credit for...if people insist that we had a shot at him (despite reports), then lets give management credit for passing on him.

I give Hendry credit for not getting him. And, looking at our 2nd base situation, it's very impressive what he's managed to do instead.

To be honest, I think about those threads where posters railed against Hendry for seemingly not even attempting to sign Matsui whenever I hear the name 'Kaz Matsui'!

 

Not that any of us could have actually predicted he would be quite this unproductive. Hopefully getting out of New York will do him some good.

I was never a Kaz Matsui fan. It's just sad that the Mets had to break up the most hideously overrated middle infield in the history of baseball (Matsui/Reyes).
