If Mihlfield is involved with the distribution of illegal drugs, you can't tell me that Pujols wouldn't have known that. I make that claim under the same rules of evidence that people accuse mgrs and gms of knowing which of their players are juicing.

If nothing else, even if Pujols is not juicing, its a demostration of VERY bad judgment on Pujols part. VERY bad judgment.

greenies were for from illegal and still are not,but are currently banned in baseball...the trainer involved was only asked about a source for these...nothing more regardless of the name under the black ink...

I hope you caught the segment on Countdown....I'll let that segment speak for me and reflect what I think is going on.

He's on the DL. He has the time. MSNBC is a national media outlet. Please refrain from the personal attacks.

Again I shall ask -- what could Pujols say to prove to you that he is innocent?

Pujols can't possibly have time to comment to the media. Cubbie Rich demanded that he see his birth certificate, so Pujols has to go find it, and present it to him. Then, internet posters can claim its a fake or was obtained through an illegal connection.

Pujols, Sweeney, and Mihlfield can't win here. If they say they didn't do it, then we'll all call them liars (see: Sosa, McGwire, Bonds). And coming out and admitting it isn't exactly smart (like using was). It's a shame baseball has gone to that level. Any accusation - no matter the strength, source or lack of leagal measures - is enough to convict any ballplayer of steroid use.

I did see tonights version with all the quotes denying the assumptions. I watched the whole thing and will agree that it speaks for itself and I hope all the speculators are sued like a few have promised...the truth will come out and hopefully that will be reported.

So has this story gotten to ESPN yet or are they protecting their golden child?

If you ask me, Barry, Wie, and anyone on Boston or New York not named A-Rod are all more ESPN's golden children than Pujols.

I noticed that the Cards fans are understandably silent. Just the prospect of anyone asking Poolie about HG frightens them. Small town hack Bernie M. will never ask him. Where's he gonna work next? East Moline?

We're silent because we came here to get away from "Cards Talk-esque" posts...

Beerman when did greenies become legal? For a legal substance it sure is weird that truckers and biker gangs are the major dealers. I thought for sure Pzfier would jump at that.

well they are legal but you need a perscription for them. I remember kids in college taking them so they could stay awake and study...

By that logic, cocaine is legal if you have a prescription. So is vicodin, morphine, and other narcotics.

I really doubt those players had a medical presecription for "greenies" or else they wouldn't be looking for a source. They would take their legally acquired prescription to the local Walgreens and get what they needed.

As a Cardinal fan, if this is true and Pujols is using HGH, I will officially switch to being a Cub fan. Or, I'll just stop watching baseball altogether. I'm honestly not sur which would be less painful.

I wouldn't do that, because some sources claim that Grimsley also points to Derrek Lee using HGH.

If this is true i'm just going to cry.

What "sources" would those be?

And how the heck would Jason Grimsley know something like that about Lee, if it were true? They've never played on the same team, and I'm pretty sure that the two have never even been in the same stadium at the same time.

Whah?! I haven't heard that, and I don't think that's true.

Oops, sorry everyone. I lied.

My friend played a joke on me, and gave me a false link.

Phew!!! That's no friend, either! :P

Yea, I realized it was fake when it said Juan Pierre had AIDS.

Although that would explain his quick drop off in production.

Other comments made by Sweeny on the radio...

--says he would bet every penny he owns that mihlfeld and albert are innocent.

--very passionate.

--called deadspin a bootleg website.

--threatened to hire a lawyer to go after that website if mihlfeld's business is hurt.

--also said he DOES know who the actual trainer mentioned in the affidavit is and it is not mihlfeld.

Sweeney is also quoted as saying that he spoke with Grimsley and was told that he didn't mention any names. That sounds to me like Grimsley told the Feds everything out of fear but now he's trying to keep face with friends and former teammates. In which case, Sweeney has no real idea of what is or isn't true.

“I still don’t believe Jason named names,” Royals captain Mike Sweeney told the Kansas City Star. “If it comes out otherwise, I will believe it then. I spoke with Jason, and he told me a lot of things written and what’s going to come out is not going to be 100 percent accurate.”

Link

Well, if Grimsley told Sweeney that, then there's two possibilities.

1. Grimsley is lying to Sweeney.

2. A federal agent lied in an affadvit signed and submitted to a Federal judge. I think I'll go with door number one.

And if Grimsley lied to Sweeney, it's just as easy that his people lied to Mihfiled when they asked if he were named in the affadavit.

1: Lying to a fellow player, and lose all credibility and NEVER pitch in the bigs again, and he would be consider a RAT...OR...

2: Lie to a FEDERAL AGENT about he used/using in an affadvit signed and submitted to a Federal Judge, and face prison time for obstruction of justice, perjury, falsifying documents, etc....to which he will never pitch in the BIGS again.

Either way...Grimsley career is over, and he is BONED. Grimsley is trying to save face, by saying he never "mentioned" anybody's name. Prison time, is most definately in Grimsely (great name for his situation..GRIMsley) future. How much time, is clearly dependant on how cooperative he is.

That's great. Steroids and HGH are legal with a prescription, too.
