You saw this coming. WHY BUNT?!

EDIT: I'm sorry for making this thread with a lot more like these on the way. I'll let you guys handle the Cubs rants from now on.

Moved to Baseball Discussions, since this has nothing to do with NSBB features (although I see a possible further move, to Rants, in this thread's future).

If Neifi decided on his own to pull a surprise party, he must be released TODAY. If Dusty called for it, he must be fired TODAY. Bunting with two outs when he represented the winning run is completely inexcusable; SOMEBODY'S head needs to roll for it.

Betcha Baker defends him...

I agree.

It was an inexcusably terrible play that no other player in the majors would have tried unless the infield was back and the pitcher and catcher each had one leg.

You want the Cubs season in a nutshell? There's your highlight.

Are you serious? Baker has really come out and said that? Unreal...

I'm losing the will to care about this team

After reading Dusty's quote I am going to the nearest bar

Buh Bye Dusty

I watched it live on television and I still don't believe it. It's just...just...

there are no words for the utterly imbecillic, idiotic, stupid, pointless....

I gotta get a beer.

Nationals' catcher probably told Neifi there was only one out therefore, he thought he was moving the tying run into scoring position. There is a team that play would have worked on but, the Cubs can't play themselves.

I think the most action that happened today in wrigley aside from washington homeruns was our fans throwing back the balls. Ridiculous. Dusty needs to go, ohman needs to go, and neifi, with a batting average under .200 now also needs to go. Straight up ridiculous that last at bat was.

So did Dusty say he called for that bunt? Who in heaven's name bunts with two outs and two on in the ninth, especially considering Neifi is Mr. Speedster!! That was RIDICULOUS. I was screaming at the TV... again! I was SHOCKED. I'm STILL shocked.

DUMB....

heck, while im at it, pierre, who went 0 for 5 today, also needs to go

Pierre was at his pathetic worst

We can piss and moan all we want about Hendry picking him up, and it clearly wasn't a good move, but no one could've predicted he'd be this bad during a contract year.

IMO he had the potential to be this bad as well as hitting 290.

Yeah... Sorry, I was browsing and I accidently posted it on the wrong board. I'm too clumsy around here. I really have to fix that. Anyhow, I wish I was old enough to drink. I guess I'll go sniff glue.

I didn't like the trade as well but, I thought at the very least, it would be an improvement over what they had last year. Never did I believe Pierre would be worse than Patterson.

My son was in disbelief as he described Perez's bunt to end the game. He thought it was a pretty dumb play.

My son is nine.

Can he play back-up SS?

I saw it and it didn't surprise me in the slightest. In fact, I thought it was hilarious. I hope everybody bunts on every at bat for the rest of the season. This pathetic team is what Hendry deserves.

It's not pathetic... It's beyond pathetic.
