But you need manager that understands this city and the Cubs history.

Why? Just because Ozzie played for the Sox doesn't mean that's the answer. Francona didn't bleed Red. McKeon might be an old dude but he didn't win because of his knowledge of South Florida history. Same with Brenly in Arizona.

If they are going to fire Baker get a manager that knows Chicago and the Chicago Cubs. It's a shame that Giardi got snatched up because I'd love to give him a shot. You need someone that bleeds Cubbie blue that understands what being a Cub fan is like.

I couldn't care less if the next manager "knew" Chicago or what it was like to be a Cubs fan. I don't need a fan managing, I want to see a smart manager.

But you need manager that understands this city and the Cubs history. You need someone with pride. Look no further to the south side and you have a manager that bleeds with Sox pride and instilled that into his players. I tell you what a manager that knows the Cubs history would've freaking went out to talk to Mark Prior after the bartman play that's for sure....

Yep. The Sox won last year because Ozzie knows Chicago. It had nothing to do with pitching, defense, or homeruns.

Duh! You know what I'm talking about. Ozzie is their team leader. He gave that team attitude.

Brenly just said a roster move might be necessary b/c of the overworked bullpen.

????

Howry has thrown 20 pitches in the last seven days.

Dempster has thrown 26.

Eyre has thrown 49 and hasn't pitched in the last two games.

And Dusty could have left fat Glendon in the game, anyway.

Saying the Cubs need a manager that understands Chicago and the history is absolutely ludicrous.

And incredible starting pitching and power.

Barrett showed some FIRE! and INTENSITY! today. I think it will give this Cubs team attitude just like Ozzie gave the Sox attitude last year. I expect similar results.

I know the history -- we've sucked more or less for a century. Where do I sign?

Only Dusty could overwork a seven-man pen.

Okay let's get another laid back California dude....Why is that Ludicrous? Wouldn't you want a manager that has pride for his town and team? Didn't Dikta have that? Doesn't Ozzie have that? Heck this team has tried everything else!

Thank the good lord for Rusch. Without him, we might actually be winning this game or something.

God forbid that we actually win. I was disappointed on Wednesday that we didn't bring Rusch in for Zambrano before we scored 5 runs in the 6th. If we bring Rusch in during the fourth or fifth innings, it's guaranteed that he gives up a bunch a runs and the Cubs are too demoralized to hit the ball by the sixth.

Can we get Ditka to manage the team?

The ESPN 1000 radio team had him on the Monday morning show and asked him lots of questions about whether Dusty is a good manager.
