I could be the left-handed BP pitcher.

We won't need one of those. That would actually help the team. You know we can't be having that.

:(

I could be the bunting coach.

Why are we using our good bullpen guys in a game that's out of reach?
because the bad ones are tired from a solid week of garbage time

b/c they haven't been used much in the last week.

I admire the dedication. I'll pencil you in as bullpen coach or something.

How about Bozo T. Clown,

He's already manager.

And Cookie (the clown) is our pitching coach.

BOTTOM OF THE SEVENTH INNING

Cassidy in to pitch for San Diego

Perez popped out (bunt) (foul) to third base

Cedeno struck out (called)

Ramirez struck out (called)

0 runs, 0 hits, 0 errors, 0 men left on base

              1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 R H E
San Diego 1 0 1 1 5 0 0 8 12 0
CUBS 1 1 0 0 1 1 0 4 9 3

This was the single most painful inning of baseball I have ever experienced in my life.

Perhaps since it was juxtaposed with a light hearted discussion with a baseball great and his 500th home run.

Terrible.

TERRIBLE.

Okay let's get another laid back California dude....Why is that Ludicrous? Wouldn't you want a manager that has pride for his town and team? Didn't Dikta have that? Doesn't Ozzie have that? Heck this team has tried everything else!

Except building a team with good OBP and power, and have a manager that knew how to use his players to get maximum performance.

But yeah, other than that, we've tried everything.

Agreed! Let's put it this way no matter who is the manager unless you get a GM that understands how to build a team it won't matter...

Come on...a better manager could get this team to play better. This team has talent. Baker puts them in the position least likely to succeed, and shockingly, they don't.

For the hundredth time, Dusty asked for these players! Lets get a manager in there that can be successful!

Hendry has an extension. He's not going anywhere. There's no reason to be saddled with a bad manager because of that.

And Whizzo is the batting coach.

Appropriate, really, what with that name and all

I'll start off by working with Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Michael Barret, Matt Murton, and Ronny Cedeno.

Something innovative that I'll do: I'll have them learn to bunt left-handed so they will be a step closer to first base. Maybe we can beat out some of the throws that way. I'll make situational switch hitters out of every right-handed bat on the roster.

Genius, I know.

Where do you see talent? What change managers and all of a sudden Pierre hit's over .300, Todd Walker shines as a number 3 hitter, and our 3 rookie pitchers start to pitch lights out. This a a bad team! Maybe not this bad (in the last two weeks) but a below .500.

Our fans aren't mean enough. There should be garbage all over the field now. I mean, besides the players.

They're burning the garbage to stay warm.

Wait until August. It'll be a riot zone.

I am officially done being disappointed that the Cubs are sucking this year and have resorted to just laughing at their failures.

That's the only thing you can do...And drink alot.
