Seriously...I don't see the point of this. Couldn't Eyre have started this inning?!

nah, dusty likes walking out there and doing his double switch. it's his trademark.

I really don't think Dusty understands that he can bring in another pitcher without double switching.

now hill can go from giving up 3 er to 5. nothing like sending a guy out there for the fourth time through the order when he's thrown more pitches than he ever has in the bigs.

Should've put in The Riot

He can't handle the pressure situation like this. I mean...he might cost us a game!

Agreed. Besides, it makes much more sense to call him up to ride the pine.

game's over anyway. would have been nice to see the kid go 7.

i certainly would have liked to see him go seven. and i may have been ok w/ it if it was matheny/vizcaino/pitcher, but not against the top of the order.

and hill gives up five runs.

Great, now we have Jones batting instead of Murton. Good Move Dusty.

Fire Dusty. Fire Jones. Fire Neifi.

tommorrow.

This crapola of a team needs some overhauling.

I no longer understand the criticism of Perez and Jones and Pierre. These guys were not stellar players immediately before their arrival to the Cubs so why would we think they'd be better? I understand criticizing good players who are playing subpar like Ramirez, Walker (of late) and Zambrano, but why criticize sucky players? If anything, Hendry should get severe criticism for signing these guys. What percent of people on here were in favor or re-signing Perez and signing Pierre and Jones? If I remember correctly, it was low.

oooooooooo my.

if eyre gives up a leadoff homer, baker catches hell for pulling hill.

He should've been pulled sooner. Let Eyre come in with the bases clear. No reason to tag extra runs on the kid.

Anyone who would have given Baker hell for pulling Hill would have been stupid. Hill was pretty good in this outing and all, but against the top of the order the fourth time through while getting behind in the count a bit too often, putting Eyre in from the get-go would have been justified, no matter the result.
