the money spent on him should definitely have not been spent on a serviceable outfielder.

"I don't think you can do better than Juan Pierre," Hendry said. "And Willie Mays wasn't available for right."

This current stretch of Cubs baseball has to be one of the worst in a long time. This Cubs organization spit in our faces when they gave Hendry that extension. Why? This is just terrible. We have regressed every year since 2004.

I remember the 8-game losing streak the Cubs had last year, and was nearly to the point that I wanted to see it continue so something had to be done. I am now at that point.

Heads have got to roll soon to save next season.

this offseason created some problems for next season.

Sure it did, but many other can be solved by scrapping this coaching staff, for starters. As long as these jokers and their bass-ackwards philosophy are running the show, most everything else is superfluous.

Guys like Jones can be traded.

the 12 million dollar man looks sharp tonight.

IF you think he's never gonna have a shaky outing, Im not sure why. Not sure why you included the 12 Million in there either. He's been great all year. Just sounds like a smart ass comment because he gave up one of Hill's runs.

sorry. he was awesome. the money spent on him should definitely have not been spent on a serviceable outfielder.

That is not the issue at all. You're just trolling for arguments at this point.

The Neifi, Rusch, Jones signings took up a lot more of the allocated money compared to production than Eyre.

the bullpen is dusty-proof though

Am I the only one not excited about the bullpen? Don't get me wrong, Eyre is a nice upgrade and Dempster has been better than I expected. But, Hendry is going on 3 years of making the bullpen an offseason priority and I don't see that much of an appreciable difference to date. That being said, I haven't looked at their stats recently.

i'm not wowed by it simply b/c it's not worth the money that was spent on it. plus, when you go for weeks on end scoring 1 run a game, it doesn't really matter what your pen does.

I see the difference, but I don't see us getting to the bullpen with a lead, so it's a moot point.

More Hendry lies. Mays hasn't been on a major league roster for years.

middle relievers stats are really impossible to predict. we signed mike remlinger after an amazing season. i could see the same thing happen with howry and eyre.

there are going to be some fights at the cell next week. question is, will it be cubs fans fighting sox fans or cubs fans fighting each other, or possibly dusty.

The Cubs are in free fall. They can't do anything right. And it couldn't come at a worse time. On a westcoast road swing with no off days. I'm not making excuses for them but it has to be tough to be in that clubhouse right now.

You know why the Cubs are losing? Clubhouse isn't loose enough!

Get Kevin Millar and the Cubs go on an 18 game winning streak because the guys are having fun!

I bitched about the $$ spent on all those guys from day 1. I wanted offense and starting pitching.

See, that's the problem. Why in the heck do we still have the same GM, Manager and coaching staff when we haven't done squat since 2003? It doesn't take a genius to see something wrong here. What does MacPhail do? He gives Hendry an extenstion. HUGE mistake. Hendry didn't deserve that extension. He hasn't made the right moves during the offseason to put us over the top. I'm all for blowing this team up as long as MacPhail, Hendry and Baker go. There's no question in my mind we will hit the century mark without a world series.

Yea that's what I said.

Wait a second that's not what I said at all. He's been great all year and actually earning his money. Sorry he gave up an ER for your boy.

I don't think the money he spent on Eyre in anyway stopped Hendry from getting an outfielder. The money he spent on Rusch/Neifi/Jones could have easily gone to an outfielder.

Clearly this is lost on you though.
