Obviously Bynum should go. He's shown he's a butcher in the OF and he's redundant at 2B. He's also a lousy PH option.

Yeah but it's always good to have three back-up second basemen

Listening to the radio yesterday, Pat made a comment that Bynum has struck out 14 of his 28 plate appearances.

WOW! That is terrible. My Jr. High team isn't even that bad.

Good start, but I don't see Theriot helping all that much. Can Buck Coats play second?

I'd like to see Pie starting in center now (Pierre can be a pinch runner), and Hoffpauir backing up Walker as a late inning replacement and making occassional starts.

I also think it's time we give Pie a shot in right field and call up Buck Coats after we find a team to take Jerry Hairston off are hands.

I really like the Riot, but why not also call up Hoffpauir? I think he would better meet the Cubs needs right now than Theriot, for he might provide some pop. After all, he has 8 home runs this year. Walker could be moved back to second and Micah could start at first.

Still nothing reported on cubs.com or ESPN. My guess is that the move isn't official yet (I think they have up until game time to make a move and still take effect), but the Tribune got early word because of the corporate relationship with the Cubs.

Since we have until gametime to announce who is being sent down, any chance that we're in the process of finalizing a trade and it'll make an impact on who goes?

Perhaps it's just wishful thinking, but this prolonged silence is somewhat odd.

Agreed, I just made a similar post in the game thread. The secrecy is a bit strange, Maybe Hendry finally traded Walker?

Unless it was some crazy trade that somehow netted the Cubs one of the top offensive players in the game, I'd call it quits on defending Hendry.

not on 40 man

There are worthless guys who are, and can be removed.

obviously, but hendry doesn't see it this way. or at least it doesn't appear so.
