The Riot brought up, Restovich down

As of this writing Theriot has been available for 6 games and has had 2 plate appearances. Why the hell was he called up?

Everyone must serve an apprenticeship before they get playing time. He got lucky when paired with Mabry.

 

Can't say the same for Cedeno.

I should also add that Riot's 2 plate appearances have come in the waning moments of games that were already out of reach, so he hasn't seen any action that actually meant anything. If this is really the best idea the Cubs' brain trust could conceive to light a fire then the Cubs need new brains.

I was being sarcastic. Since Dusty and Hendry are absolutely obsessed with speed this season I just felt that Bynum would stick because he is fast. Not that I agree with that decision.

Its great to have speed.It needs to be utilized.How many attempted steals against the Padres?Piazza couldn't throw guys out 10 years ago,I doubt he got better. We have guys with speed that are basically pinch runners.Because we all know you can't steal 1st base. And with the teams hitting philosophy,walks are definitely out of the question.
