Why is there so much secrecy over the Theriot promotion? Haven't heard anything all day about who got demoted or what the Cubs thinking behind the promotion was.

maybe a trade? only thing i can think of....

any lineups?

not yet, still over an hour till game time, so while they may be set, they havnt been released, especially not by Dusty who believes that surprise is a key to victory.

Since Hairstons in the lineup and Perez most likely didn't get dealt why call up another weak hitting middle infielder for a team that badly needs offense?

Back to back singles in the Top of the 5th helped the Rockies score 2 more.

Through 5, Jeff Francis has it on auto-pilot-- 5-0.

Should be Marquis' last inning here in the 6th.

nice. Can gain a full game on the Cards tonight (if the Rockies hold on) and .5 on the Reds.

Jon pointed out in transactions that Restovich was sent down. Yay, Bynum is still on the team. Way to go Cobs. :wall:

They both suck, but I would have rather had Bynum be sent down because Dusty plays him more.

C.Young is 0-2 at home this year. I know that is a small sample size which don't mean much, but he has always done better away with a lifetime record of 9-1 in away games. If he were a left hander and pitching poorly at home, he would be a cinch tonight because that is the type of left hander that beats the Cubs. Fortunately he is right handed and is going up against Maddux who is looking to rebound off his Ariz loss. I am going out on a limb and prediciting an end to the losing streak and a Cubs win tonight before the Giants series.

Marquis just gave up a 1000 ft. homerun to Holliday. His 2nd homerun on the night. 6-0 Colorado.
