So Maddux will attempt to be the stopper that seemingly no other pitcher can. After 2 FANTASTIC starts by Big Z and Marshall and a subpar outing by Guzman, Maddux looks to end a 6 game skid and start a new personal (and team) winning streak.

Maddux (5-1 2.35 ERA) VS. Young (2-2 3.53 ERA) should be an interesting matchup of finese and power.

As a side note, this game marks the 2nd anniversary of my nupitals to my beautiful bride. Unfortuantely, we can't go to the game nor will we see each other at all. Hopefully this unfortuantely circumstances can be overcome and give us something to smile about. Besides, what better of a gift then a Cubs victory?

Go CUBS !!!

Posted
If you made Cubs losing streaks illegal, who would you penalize - the Cubs for losing, or the team that beats them?

I'd probably have to ban the other team from baseball for life, what do you think ?

I suspect that Maddog will get a no decision today. We go 1-1 until the 8th inning, when the Pads put 479 runs on the board

Completely unreasonable.

How would we score a run?

Cubs add Theriot to roster

Looking to add some offense and speed to a struggling lineup, the Cubs called up second baseman Ryan Theriot from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, sources told the Tribune.

The 26-year-old Theriot, a right-handed hitter, was one of the final roster cuts in spring training. He was hitting .309 at Iowa with five stolen bases and 12 RBIs in 110 at-bats.

A September call-up in 2005, Theriot went 2-for-13 in nine games with the Cubs.

Since Todd Walker's move to first base, Theriot is expected to get some playing time with second baseman Jerry Hairston and infielder Neifi Perez both struggling at the plate.

There's a thread on this in transactions.

I just put my believe bracelet on for the first time in a while, so if we win tonight I am taking all the credit.

I'll throw on my "Road to the Show" t-shirt when I get home. That puppy had some magic in it in '03.
