Go CUBS !!

Posted

The good news is the Cubs are 6-1 at Petco and 10-1 in their last 11 in San Diego.

The bad news is that we couldn't beat a high school team right now. Z needs to start pitching like we all know he can, and he needs to start doing it tonight against the crappy Padres offense. Please win Cubs.

I'm feeling good about tonight. I think Z will pitch a 8 inning gem tonight. We need it!!!

Well, it's a good thing I have prom tonight, I wouldn't have seen tonight's game either way.

You may reach 2nd base more than the Cubs do tonight!

Dude, I seriously just spit water out on my desk I laughed so hard! So funny! I nominate this as the post of the day! Instant Classic!!!!

If the Cubs don't win this game with Z on the mound against maybe the worst offense in baseball, and a horrible pitcher against us, then they should contract the franchise.

It would nice if Zambrano gets his head out of his rectum and pitches like the Cy Young canidate is supposedly is...you know, effective for once, what a refreshing change that would be.

Rectum? Damn near killed 'em!

Happy Cinco De Mayo everyone! Or as I call it another excuse to get sloppy drunk tonight!

That's not an American holiday, don't wish it on me. Would you wish me a happy Tisha B'Av? No, because I am not Jewish.

Cubs Game Notes

Carlos Zambrano is 4-0 with a 2.67 ERA (9 ER/30.1 IP)

against the San Diego Padres in five career starts …the Padres are one of two National League clubs in which Zambrano is undefeated against (also San Francisco).

© The 24-year-old has won his last four starts against the Padres dating back to 2003, recording a 1.33 ERA (4 ER/27.0 IP) in that span.

The Cubs have gone six games without a home run, their

longest drought since going eight games without a long ball April 25-May 3, 1999.

© Chicago’s last home runs came on April 28 vs. Milwaukee when Ronny Cedeno and Jacque Jones both homered in a 6-2 victory.

Chicago has 18 hits over the first two games of this road trip

but the club is just 2-for-22 (.091) with runners in scoring position, having gone 1-for-11 with RISP in each of the first two games of this trip … Chicago has stranded 22 runners in its last two games.

© The Cubs are just 4-for-36 (.111) with RISP over their last six games after hitting .368 (14-38) with RISP over their previous five games.

© That said, the Cubs still rank fourth in the National League, batting at a .271 clip with runners in scoring position this season.
