OK folks. I feel a bit better after last night's offensive fiasco.

Enjoy the rest of the game. I'm going back to doing that which they pay me for.

See yunz next Pirates/Cubs game.

Oh, I'll be at the game on 8/4! Look for the ugly guy with the beautiful wife and beautiful children (who look like the beautiful wife) all wearing black & gold. :-)

Angel Guzman = Juan Cruz Redux

btw, Cubs have been outscored 34-4 since Saturday. Against the Brewers and Pirates. I'll be in the bathtub with my straight razor if anyone needs me.

Dusty should have let Guzman finish the inning... Novoa has lost it after dropping the ball earlier.

Um....NOOOOO. I'd prefer to not increase Guzman's chances of getting injured. He should have never started the inning.

Um, he only had 90 pitches and was pitching well.

He's a big boy, only a few months younger than Z... not like he's a 19-year old out there.

He's a big boy with a terrible injury history who struggled along in all but 2 innings this outing.

Jacque Jones quite simply the worst all around RF in all of Baseball - Little League, HS, College, Asia, Latin America, MLB, Minor Leagues - did I miss any?

I've never understood wearing the visiting team's colors to a game. It's fine to root for your team, but why make yourself a target?

Cubs fans are more docile than Philly fans, but I've seen a beer or two thrown at fans wearing the wrong hat before.

Sometimes I want thsi team to lose in a big way, to maybe get some heads fired.

Yeah, I agree. After a game like this, there's no way Hendry will get an extension.

Oh wait.

90 pitches through 5 innings. At that rate, he would be close to 110 pitches when he got through the 6th. Do you understand Angel Guzman's history? He isn't Carlos Zambrano. He hasn't thrown 200+ innings for the past few years. I'd prefer to limit his chances of developing more arm problems, than throw him back out there in a game where the Cubs were down 4. It was pretty aparent to me that we weren't going to score 4 runs and come back anyways. Why not get Guzman out of the game on a good note and with a decent pitch count?

Angel Guzman = Juan Cruz Redux

What does that mean?

Means that he came advertised as the next great thing but can't get it together at the major league level. I know Guzman's sample size is small to this point, but I see similarities nonetheless. Great arm strength but too much nibbling, too many walks, little confidence.

The Cubs are losing to the FRIGGIN' Pirates, by 8 runs?

A FRIGGIN' change is needed.

LF Murton

2B Hairston

C Barrett

1B Walker

3B Ramirez

RF Same kid who is seating along the RF line

SS Cedeno

CF Pierre

This team needs a friggin' change, cause whateve Baker is doing, is clearly not working.

Actually, we'll just wear hats. :-) Phillies fans are just rude.

I've never understood the people who view visiting fans as targets. I've been to several stadiums wearing Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks colors. The most I've dealt with is a disparaging word or three. But it's usually the pathetic cowards in a group of cowards who choose to throw something at the smallest opposing fan they can find.
