Question: As a general observation over the last few years, why do you think soft tossing lefties give the Cubs fits?

Talk amoungst yourselves...

Lack of general plate discipline is my thought...

The managers don't care? I mean, when you are constantly shut down by bad (not saying Duke is) lefties, something needs to be done, yet nothing is.

Is anybody else wishing a big trapdoor would open up in the infield and swallow up Jack Wilson?

What an awful game, I think I'm going to turn it off and actually (gulp) study for my finals.

I believe it has a lot to do with their ridiculously over aggressive approach. Soft-tossers get you out by having you swing at their pitch. The Cubs, as a rule, will swing at any pitch.

It's a travesty that Jock Strap is starting against left-handed pitchers.

So true. I actually got tired of complaining about it, so I let others do it for me now.

Interesting. Very interesting.

Many on this board have trashed Jack.

I think the fundamental problem at the moment is that our two big RH bats are missing. DLee is injured and Aram is still on vacation.

In all honesty after today we are 14-11. Not bad with your best hitter on the bench ahd 3 rook's in your rotation.

I really don't care to hear one complaint about a starting pitchers while our offense is putting on this display of brilliance. Not about Z, not about Gooz.

I agree. It has to be a lot of pressure on the starting pitcher knowing if he gives up a run or two, the game is essentially over.

I'm not complaining about Guz. Sure, he hasn't done super well, but he hasn't done overly bad. He just needs to be allowed to attack the zone early, and not nibble as much.

Our offense is poor, made worse by Clines.

Good effort by Jones, but he forgot to close the glove.

Generally, I like his fielding in right. Now if only he could bat.

The decision to send Guzman out for this inning is not a good one IMO.

Damn, I didn't even realize he was still out there. This is a horrible, horrible decision. The guy is coming off arm problems, and you are gonna throw him out there for a 6th inning when he's already above 90 pitches!?! It's not like he's even pitching that great.

yeah, but don't expect dusty to think about that.
