PROCESS, NOT RESULTS

just because a run scored doesnt mean it's a good idea to take the bat out of the hands of one of your best hitters

NO HITTER THROUGH 4!!!!

On the Peoria broadcast, they mentioned that Nancy Cartwright is from Dayton. Didn't know that.

Kettering to be exact. Why were they talking about Nancy Cartwright?

The game was in Dayton, so Nathan Baliva was mentioning all the famous Daytonians. You should check out the Chiefs sometime when they're in town - Donnie Veal pitches on Thursday.

Believe it or not, Dayton Dragons tickets are really hard to get.

Amusing since Nathan was just mentioning how few people they were at the game (might be because of the temps).

As was pointed out, Aramis isn't the fastest guy out there. If you sac bunt, you want to be pretty sure that the runner can score from second. He did there, but it was close. Giving up an out when you still likely need two singles makes it questionable.

Considering who is pitching and the conditions I support the call.

it worked. station to station baseball with the wind howling in from LC isn't what's going to work against willis.

Several good things about Barretts bunt first is obviously we scored a run because of it. The other thing for me is that he has not had a hit in 3 games now and it was obviousl lasy night with the bases loaded he was pressing and went outside the zone when he struck out. Sometimes all a guy needs is to do something at the plate thats positive even if its not getting a hit and obvioulsy putting down a successful bunt is a good trip to the plate that might spark that bat.

That is why they pay Baker the big money, to make calls like that.

Did Jones get booed after hitting into the inning-ending double play? Edited by bc2k

Way to go Murt.

If I put my hand into a nest of rattlesnakes to get a 100 dollar bill and I don't get bit doesn't make putting my hand in a nest of rattlesnakes a smart thing to do.

Hope not and don't think so.

Guys, stop expecting Jones to do anything in this game. Seriously, he's waaay overmatched.

"[The players] know what I'm doing," Baker said. "I told them in a meeting [saturday] that I have to do some things in this situation that we have here that I might not ordinarily do in order to preserve this or in order to preserve that. Their job is not to like it, necessarily, but their job is to go along with it and understand it. That's part of being the boss."

Agreed, however I cannot argue with the results right now.

It also puts the Cubs in a position to send Ramirez on a close play since there's already an out. Like I said, you don't want to bunt when you more than likely need two hits to score a run anyways given the speed of the baserunner. Even with the conditions, if there's a smaller chance of the runner on second scoring on a single, it's probably not worth it.
