Nothing bad will ever happen to Neifi. He's like that guy in Unbreakable...

Is this for injured players or fans who injure themselves? If it's the latter:

Snoodmonger, 2-4 weeks, lacerated wrists.

2-4 weeks?

I have been a Cubs fan for my whole life and have been lurking here for quite some time. I am sick to my stomach right now, but I felt the need to post to say that the season is NOT over. Losing DLee sucks big time, but I think giving up right now is very premature. Guys are going to have to step up, but hopefully they will rise to the occasion. And if we can get Prior, Wood, and Miller back healthy, that could carry us for quite a while.

You can only rise so far above what you are.

This lineup, without Lee, is one of the worst in baseball. It's just that simple.

Very true. People need to back up from the ledge.

Nice gesture, but it's over.

Unfortunately that's the truth. The offense is going to be terrible without Lee. It wasn't that great with him.

I chickened out and slashed across the wrists. It was a cry for help.

It's going to be tough for the next month or so, but if the 3 pitchers come back, then they won't need much offense to win.

I can see the newspaper reports now:

The Associated Press has reported a record number of suicides occurring on the same day, April 20, 2006. While some might associate this with the marijuana "holiday" or Adolf Hitler's birthday, baseball fans will remember it as the day it was announced that Derrek Lee will miss 8 to 10 weeks.

While Cubs fans are used to injuries to their star pitchers, mainly Mark Prior and Kerry Wood, this was quite unexpected.

"I wasn't surprised by Prior and Wood being hurt, but it's just cruel for Lee to go down also," an unnamed Cubs fan said.

Police officers around the country were stunned to find random dead bodies in their cities. Surprisingly, every one of the deceased was wearing a Chicago Cubs jersey.

The exact number of deaths is still do be determined, but this will go down as a day that Cubs fans will never forget.

Disbelief was the only emotion a second Cubs fan could muster.

"Does anybody need any more proof that the Cubs are cursed," he muttered over and over again.
