I think the player the Cubs should be targeting is a guy who can play other positions besides 1st. When Lee comes back, that player needs to be able to do something other than just pinch hit since Lee pretty much plays everyday.

Cabrera was going to cost more than we could have given BEFORE Lee went down. What makes you think thhat now that Lee is hurt, his cost would be equal?

He's not a liability at 3B either. His rep is far worse than the reality. He's about average at third.
