hopefully we can put a nice dent into Penny's ERA today. Let's hope the offense rebounds from the anemic performance that they put on last night..

Go Cubs!

Man, I want this win tonight! Give us some momentum going into the dreaded Card Series...

By the way, Penny has looked as dominant as his stats have been thus far this season. Hope the Cubs can get to the pen because I don't expect much against Penny.

Well he's due for a downfall I hope we are the team to do it.

Winning 2 out of 3 on the road is important. Especially with the Cards coming up.

Hell just winning any game is important this time of the year! I'm thinking the rest of the month like this after a win tonight:

1/3 Cards

2/3 Florida

2/3 Milwaukee.

For a April of 14-10

Not bad!

Cubs Game Notes

Cubs shortstop Ronny Cedeno (8-16) and second baseman Todd

Walker (8-16) are tied for the NL lead with a .500 batting average in night games this

season.

According to ESPN.com’s Jayson Stark, the Cubs - who lost last

night - are one of just two Major League teams to have avoided losing back-to-back

games over the first three weeks of the season … the Astros have also avoided backto-

back losses to start the 2006 campaign.

Noteworthy Match-ups (Chicago Cubs) Vs. Brad Penny (Righty, 2-0, with a 1.50 ERA in 2006

Noteworthy Match-ups (LA Dodgers) Vs. Sean Marshall (Lefty, 1-0, with a 7.71 ERA in 2006)

No current Dodger has ever faced Marshall in the regular season. It's pretty sad, they dont even have a Player Card/page for Marshall on ESPN.com.

Here's to mutant Aardsma getting called out of the pen!

i think if we can tag penny for a three in the first three innings, we should have enough momentum to carry us through the game.

i also think we can take at least two of three from the cards...ponson is a scrub, and williams has pitched well thus far

rusch is a scrub, and we'll probably get annihilated on saturday

but then it's back to maddux beating marquis on sunday.

the cards have lost every game in which pujols has failed to score a run. They have also lost every game which he has failed to drive in a run. The Cubs held him without a run and an RBI in two of the three games during the sweep....

that's the formula to success
