Wonder if Ron can tell Dusty his lineup "sounds like a winner" with a straight face today...

Then again, with Z pitching, any lineup has a shot at being a winner. As Brenley likes to remind us ad nauseum "if you pitch a shutout and hit a home run, you can't lose"

Speaking of Rusch, the Trib seemed to think Dusty is going to let him make his scheduled start on Sunday:

Cubs manager Dusty Baker had a heart-to-heart meeting with pitcher Glendon Rusch before Wednesday's game. Baker again backed Rusch -- who has both Cubs losses and an 8.00 ERA after giving up four home runs to the Reds on Tuesday -- just as he had the day before. So Rusch's spot in the rotation appears safe, at least for his next start Sunday in Pittsburgh.

That means Marshall, Williams and Rusch are our starters this weekend.

Umm...let's get some runs!

Not good. Z better be on.

Hmmm...I'm I the only one that is optimistic about today's lineup. I like the speed and I think we are going to score some today. 6-3 Cubs win this game

I am optimistic about it as well. This lineup could single the Reds to death but definitely win the game.

Just the same, if Dusty is having heart to hearts, he's also having some doubts. I'd say Rusch probably has a short leash.

That's how I took it. The fact that there was a conversation at all says something, especially with Dusty.

How many errors will the Reds commit today? I'm going with 3.

I'll go with 2 - but they'll both be costly.

Well, at least we'll be facing the Pirates. :D

And while that article implies Rusch will make his start in Pittsburgh, it also seems to imply that he's on a rather short leash.

So yesterday was the first time the Cubs stole 4 bases in a LONG time. I say we go for 6 swipes today. Heck, with how weak this lineup is powerwise, let em run!

The high for last season was 3 SB on Sat 21 May in a 5-3 loss to the white sox. Can't tell you when they last had 4.

And in other games around the majors today,

Yankees 4, Royals 0 Bot 3

Dodgers 2, Pirates 2 Bot 5

White Sox 7, Tigers 1 Top 4

Mets 6, Nationals 0 Bot 4

Twins 3, A's 2 Bot 4

Marlins 4, Padres 2 Bot 3

Brewers 1, Cardinals 1 Top 4

I'm the worst Manager in all of Fantasy Baseball. If I just thought up a plan and did the exact opposite I'd be in good hands. My bench has outscored my starters the past 3 days, and benching Zimmerman today hasn't helped (2 RBI)

Fred, just curious, what's with the Red Lion avatar?

I sat Maddux yesterday. No way he pitches great again with the wind blowing out, right? Oops.
