Barrett seriously is the best NL offensive catcher.

Brian Mcann

How do you figure?

I don't really. Maybe in a year or two if Salty doesn't take his job.

how many runs did Paul knock in today?

Yep but Michael can't catch anyday. Will he always knock in 3?

I'm not watching, so I don't know what your gripe is, but will there be a short hop play at the plate every day?

Barrett is a good hitter, but how many games has he just killed us? Like with the play at Philadelphia when he threw to third when he could have reached out to tag Rollins. I would trade Barrett for a number of catchers straight up.

Name some.

Victor Martinez

Joe Mauer

Jason Varitek

Ramon Hernandez

Javy Lopez

Javy Lopez? That's reaching. He's not really a catcher anymore.

nor was he ever good on defense, nor is he a better hitter than Barrett right now.

I take it Williamson is coming in since Walker is pinch hitting?

I thought Pat said Eyre was warming up. But I'm only listening with one ear right now.

Eyre is warming up, I didn't see Williamson, but I could've missed him.

Waker gets a single, Cedeno to third.

Yeah. Williamson was warming up during the top of the 6th.

Why does it seem like in 2003 Pierre was on base ALL the time against us, creating havoc and NEVER grounding out to anyone, but now he weakly grounds out ALOT to everyone?

Because he really wasn't that big a factor in the 2003 NLCS?

Huh? He had a great series.

.303/.343, 1 for 4 in SBs (25%).

He had a good series, but the effect he had on the NLCS has been overstated.

Yeah, I guess "great" was stretching it. But still, a leadoff hitter with a 343 OBP in a championship series certainly had a good amount of impact on the series.

Has there been any mention on the broadcast about the severity of Aramis' injury?
It's still day-to-day. He's probably 50/50 for tomrrow.

Before the game there was a recording of some questioning of O'Neil, I think, and he said that Ramirez was day to day, and they'd see how he was when they went to Pittsburgh.

Not really. They said he was day-to-day.

Nice pitching to Hattiburg by Eyer.

So he's likely going to sit tomorrow?

I'm less than impressed with his offseason conditioning program. That and Mark O'Neal and the rest of the staff that can't make sure their guys stretch properly.
