Doesn't anyone find it strange that all of our pitchers prefer pitching to Blanco? Once we brought in Barrett our pitchers eras have all went up from what they were with Miller.

He's good. Bu, being able to catch comes into play when you are in fact a catcher.

 

I can think of a number of third basemen I'd trade Aramis Ramirez for straight up:

 

1. Alex Rodriguez

2. David Wright

3. Miguel Cabrera

4. Mike Schmidt

5. Javy Lopez

He's good. Bu, being able to catch comes into play when you are in fact a catcher.

Javy Lopez could still catch as well as Barrett.

It of course has nothing to do with Prior and Wood battling injuries.

We were arguing before about how there were not catchers you could get that would be equal value to him I said there were. They asked me to name them. I did. Some of them are so superior to MB we would have to sell the farm to get them with him.

With catchers you generally have to pick one trait or the other. Generally, but not all the time, a great hitting catcher isn't going to be great defensively and vice versa. Then you get guys that are average at both. It just depends on your preference.

And when Barrett hits .330 with 40 homers then we can talk. Once he quit doing that he was a hack.
