so I see the first inning squeez-o-rama and think 'ok, so were looking at a slugfest.'

then I see the first two pitches to Pierre called a strike.

ever wonder why scrub after scrub shines for the Cardinals? there's your answer right there.

Ponson was getting the low strike and Marshall wasn't. Maybe Marshall's downhill delivery is messing with the ump. :?

well there's the outside corner for Ponson too.

the ump also missed a high curve to Rolen. Rolen hit his HR on strike five.

And Ponson's large strike zone continues.

He should save some energy and throw it all in the dirt.

Marshall is straight money. Made one bad pitch and has not flinched. I'm telling ya, keep the brooms ready.

And yes, Jacque Jones "KP" is a tribute to the death of a great player which I feel should be immune to bad jokes but maybe it is just me.

Great player, sure, but great man, no. Thus, no immunity from good jokes.

Nobody is making jokes about Kirby Puckett. Relax.

Trust me, I'm very relaxed. Just making an observation.

Simply not a big fan of ripping on Jones this early. He is struggling, I understand. Fans are not patient, I understand.

So back to baseball, the Jacque Jones BandWGN thread should solve this tonight!

Marshall got a called strike 5-6 inches off the plate (outside) according to K zone. He did get screwed on 2-3 other calls that inning though.
