I hope WV keeps shooting 3's like this because no one in the Atlanta region can handle that if it's on.

Don't look now, but 12 minutes in and Oral Roberts only trails Memphis by 1.

I wish Verne Lundquist would stop calling NW State "Northwestern".

In other unrelated news, the final of Nova and Monmouth appears to be on a 50-35 pace. Yeesh..

Yeah, that was really getting on my nerves, and I only got to see the last couple minutes of the game.

it happens every year, a 16 seed hangs around for the first half and then gets blown out by 20-30 in the second half.

Not that im not rooting for ORU

exciting isn't exactly the word I would have used at the time to describe it.

So far the premier conference records:

Big 10: 3-2

Big East: 0-3

SEC: 4-1

ACC: 2-0

Big XII: 1-1

PAC 10: 3-0

For all the Big 10/Big East hype, so far only a so-so showing.

To be fair, those were the 3 worst teams from the Big East that are finished.

Good point. Barring upsets, the record will be 5-3 at the end of today.

Still, "barring upsets", they should've gone 7-1 in the first round.

Right now, the Big East has lost 2 games they shouldn't have, the Big Ten one, the Big 12 one, the SEC one, the ACC won with a 1 seed and a 4 seed in double OT, and the Pac-10 has performed as they should have so far.

Also, the SEC has won a game they shouldn't have, and the Big 12 has won one they shouldn't have.

I think Alabama is just as good a team, probably better, than Marquette. The Tide got underseeded IMO and that game didn't surprise me at all, I picked it.

Cuse was a disappointment (again). The moral for them is never win the Big East tournament again, it's poison.

I had Alabama as one of those teams that inexplicably was considered a lock, despite playing nobody in the non-conference season. They had 3 good home victories against Florida, LSU, and Tennessee, but just one decent road victory (Kentucky), and a bad home loss to Ole Miss, and finished 17-12 overall.

Plus they looked horrible in their conference quarters against Kentucky.

If we've learned nothing else, don't judge anyone by their conference tournament showing (BC, Cuse, Bama, Iowa...)

Granted, but I was speaking more to the justification for them getting into the tournament, as their resume was no more impressive than that of a Michigan, or a Cincinnati, or a Missouri State.

My facebook bracket is going to crap, I think I'll be down 4 or 5 sweet 16 teams after this set of games. Had to pick upsets to get the points though.

meanwhile this set is going swimmingly for me (after 2-2 in the early games)

Is it just me or is this the least impressive all 4 #1 seeds have been against #16 seeds in recent memory. Not that they are really struggling against them, but just not the total domination we used to see. How many #1 seeds do you see surviving the weekend?

I think there is a distinct possibility none of them make it to the Final Four.
