Let's go Hoosiers! Get me through Day 1 without losing a 2nd weekend team...

word of advice: don't count on the Hoosiers to win this game.....they've caused me pain all year

safe for tonight...did i mention that I was delusional enough to pick IU to win against Gonzaga as well?

Today was pretty good....I lost two games. I incorrectly chose the GW-NCW game and the Montana-Nevada game. I'm tied for first place in the pool for my work and definitely hoping the luck continues.

I think IU might have a good chance of beating Gonzaga. The Zags haven't really played well as of late, especially having some trouble with some inferior teams.

I got Wichita St. beating Tennessee in the 2nd round. Hope that comes true.

Homer. OK, I'll admit I have Iowa going to the final 4 in all of my brackets. It's fun to dream.

I was going to compare it to battered wife sydrome, but that works also.

I tend to agree....that's why I picked the Hoosiers to pull off the upset. I also picked Wichita St. to beat the Vols. Tennessee wasn't impressive today, so let's hope they don't effectively regroup.

Well I picked Winthrop.... wrong. I also gave a guy $40 to bet in Vegas since the line on the Syracuse-TAMU game was basically a pick 'em. And, I picked Marquette. So basically, after the first round, I am a loser.

If you told me Dee and Augustine both would be held to single digits, I'd assume we lost. Encouraging in some ways, disappointing in others. Still way too close of a game, especially considering that excellent free throw shooting is not gonna hold up.

Couldn't we probably break up the NCAA Tournament into threads by round or something? This thread will be 100 pages if it stays as is.

What's wrong with that? The college bball thread is over 100 pages. :)

Despite my 12-4 record and no Sweet 16 teams lost, I am 6th in the NSBB Facebook pool (damn underdog scoring) and one of 12 people tied for 10th in the NSBB Yahoo group. But the big day is tomorrow, because my 3 Big East Final 4 teams play, including West Virginia, all of whose games I'll be sweating through because, let's face it, these pools are going to be won by whoever gets the other three Final 4 right other than UConn.

Strong performances, everyone, and best of luck on Day 2.

GMac being hurt killed us as he was truely needed and the team lost a lot when he was out there because he couldn't move. I wish the kid could have been healthy and had a chance to go out on his terms.

Earl the Pearl! What a game for Calloway! Jr. college transfers are great. 18 is the magic number. When Calloway scored his 18th point on the layup to cut the lead to 1, I said, "18 for him, 18 for Marco, need Vaden to get to 18 to win." I was expecting that if IU won, though, it would be Killer getting his 20th point to do it. When Vaden took that 3, I knew it was good when it left his hand.

Still, that was probably the worst defensive showing of the season for IU. Best offensive showing since the first 2 games of the season, but that was likely the worst defensive team they have seen. Thankfully, they were able to get to the hoop at will (Calloway, Wilmont), and they actually did instead of settling for the 3.

btw, I picked Kent St. to beat Pitt today simply because Kent St. has this guy:

How can you lose when Napolean Dynamite is scoring 10.3/gm off the bench?

WHO, WHO, WHO...HOOSIERS!!

Agreed. Good offense and terrible defense. Gonzaga also plays some poor defense so it should be interesting. Earl was great and Vaden gutted out a great performance considering his physical limitations. Strickland with the HUGE defensive play at the end. Killingsworth was killing me with some of those misses underneath. Good win. I wonder how Vaden's ankle is going to react and how serious Strickland's shoulder injury is.

Also, make free throws, please.

Yeah, Killer has had trouble point blank recently. He's getting position, getting the touches, just not putting it in the hoop. He would be a lot better if he could go to his right hand also. I don't know how we are gonna matchup with Morrison. I think Killer can get Batista into foul trouble, though. I say let Morrison get his, and don't let guys like Raivio beat you.
