  1. The results are now more...normal. 1. OSU 2. Michigan 3. Florida 4. Texas 5. USC 6. WVU 7. Louisville 8. Tenn 9. ND 10. Cal Missouri is 12th
  2. These are the current results for ESPN.com's "Rank your top 25" poll for college football. You Missouri fans should like it. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h184/soccer10k/ESPNpoll.jpg
  3. What are the odds Herbstreit picks Missouri to lose again?
  4. That game is at Auburn.
  5. Untarp the upper deck, please. Free Mt. Davis! They should definitely open it up.
  6. Yes, Carl Crawford could get better and it's not hard to think that. I never said he has reached his ceiling yet. But as long as we're using age as a factor here, Cabrera is just 23 so he could, and probably will, get even better than he is right now. The discussion wasn't about which player was more available and which could be obtained for less. It was about which player is better right now and who will be better in the future. Cabrera is far better than Crawford is now and it's likely to stay that way. I believe the discussion is actually about Mark Prior - see post. Start a new thread. Did you read the thread? I realize that the thread title is "Mark Prior" but a majority of the discussion has been regarding Crawford/Cabrera and not Mark Prior.
  7. First home game of the year for Davis. Woot!! Go Aggies!!
  8. The FA class is very weak for 3b, and there are no obvious trade candidates. The yanks need pitching, but they should be able to get pitching AND a 3b for ARod. They don't need a good offensive 3B. Sheffield likely won't be back and, if you trade ARod, you still have these players under contract for 2007: CF Damon SS Jeter RF Abreu 1B Giambi LF Matsui C Posada 2B Cano So realistically, all they would need are #8 and #9 hitters one of which would be a DH meaning they can get anybody to hit there. The Yankees need pitching. That should be their primary and secondary focus this offseason. Sure, the yanks don't NEED any more players that can hit the ball, but thats besides the point. We are talking about one of the top 3 offensive players in the league here, they will be able to ask for and get a 3B and a pitcher for him unless the pitcher's name is C. Zambrano, Santana, Oswalt, Carpenter or the like. ARod is a reasonably priced perennial MVP candidate, if its just going to take pitching, its going to have to be a reasonably priced Cy Young candidate. Which isn't going to happen. Couldn't the Yankees get a couple solid pitchers in return instead of one Cy Young pitcher? Maybe in a three-way deal?
  9. The starters for Game 2 are listed as TBA on the A's mlb.com site. I would think that Harden would start though.
  10. [nitpicking] Dunn set the strikeout record in 2004 with 195. He had 168 K's in 2005. This year he finished with 2006. As per baseball-reference [/nitpicking]
  11. The Cubs should not go after Bonds and neither should any other NL team. I bet he goes to New York.

  13. I have a feeling this series will not be returning to San Diego.
  14. Tuesday. Forgot that part in the title but I figured I would start this early. GO A'S!!
  15. The Louisville-WVU game is going to be good. And I think Louisville is a solid team and should be considered 'someone'.
  16. My top 10: 1. OSU 2. Florida 3. Michigan 4. USC 5. WVU 6. Louisville 7. Tennessee 8. Cal 9. Texas 10. Notre Dame
  17. But that could very well lead to Joe Torre taking Piniella's place in Hendrys plan. I dont know which one is worse for the Cubs to hire, Torre or Piniella. Both of them are not good managers. I bet Torre retires.

  19. http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/7014.jpg 13-13, 3.84 ERA ALDS Game 1 vs NYY: 5.2 IP, 12 H, 7 R, 7 ER vs http://espn-ak.starwave.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/65x90/6394.jpg 16-10, 3.83 ERA ALDS Game 1 vs Min: 8 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER GO A'S!!
  20. Now I don't have to worry about my dad bragging about the Dodgers winning the World Series.
  21. It's october and he was 1-11 with 0BB before game 4, 1-14 after. Simple fact of the matter is Arod bats in the middle of the order Joe Torre is stupid, Arod bats at the bottom of the order Joe Torre is stupid. I don't know if you are trying to bring new york baseball politics into this with your statement, but the simple fact of the matter is he's Alex fricken Rodriguez. 1-11. that's one helluva sample size on which to judge. Damon was 0-7 in games 2 and 3. did he get dropped in the lineup? Sheffield, Bernie Williams did nothing. did they get dropped? the notion that Arod's performance was the sole purpose of him being dropped in the lineup is preposterous. It's also a fact that regardless of where ARod hits in the lineup, if he doesn't produce, he's going to get ripped. And if Torre kept ARod hitting in the heart of the order and ARod didn't produce, Torre would get ripped as well. It is New York baseball politics and you can't ignore that.
  22. I'm willing to bet that the Yankees would prefer to get starting pitching in return for ARod. Cashman's not an idiot and has to realize that the Yankees can afford to lose a bat from that lineup if it nets them solid starting pitching in return.
  23. No it doesn't. A short series doesn't mean anything. Before the Yankees series that great staff were routed by the Royals in three games. You're missing the point. The Yank-mes line-up was supposed to be this huge, unstoppable force, well, how'd that go for them? What stopped this unstoppable force? Great pitching. The Tigers had it, the Yanks, didn't. Simple. Two words: Sample size.
