  1. Yeah but we had to fill our need for utility IF prospects.
  2. If A.J. is "despised", what does that make Barrett? Oswalt, Dave Roberts and now the sucker punch. Say what you want about the Sox. They've got a ring. And I'd take Ozzie over Dusty any day of the week. And why did the Sox get "rewarded"? Let me think....because they earned it. Like every other team that wins the World Series. Pierzynski is FAR more hated throughout baseball than Barrett is. Not if Barrett keeps this up If by keep this up you mean punch somebody else in the face every day for the rest of his career, then yes, he might stand a chance. Otherwise, no.

  4. I hope Mike North gets rabies.
  5. Total misrepresentation. The reception was surprisingly warm. They even cheered after the big pansy hit a homerun. And booed him after that. I read it in a game thread from White Sox fans. it was either after the 2nd HR or his single, he was booed, and loud enough to make a Sox fan watching on TV notice.
  6. Sox fans also booed Thomas. Class.
  7. That's just how I read that, but I could see it could mean ugly, like 1995 was ugly without relating the full time part.
  8. So unless you go to the WS you can't tell a coach's kids to stay out of the fight? Ozzie wasn't half the player Dempster is if you want to go that route. Was Dempster on the Larlins in 03? sarcasm my man Man I am terrible at picking this stuff up lately You apparently (luckily) missed the 14 page monster on Hill/Venezuelan douche
  9. LOL yeah, wasn't that the new "Darren Baker" rule? I believe the age limit is 14 years or older. But following the steroid crackdowns with the revelations/speculations that Bonds's steroid guy was in the clubhouse, it became that only team personell were allowed in the clubhouse. It was the reason for the big deal over Sosa's personal assistant being banned and then made into a BP pitcher(I think?) And even then I believe he couldn't be in the dugout during the games as it was restricted to players, managers, and the limit of 5(?) coaches.
  10. Clayton and Ozzie BOTH had better years than they should have............ probably because of the way Larussa used them. TLR should be commended for getting the most out of both of them. Ozzie doesn't get it. He didn't have the stamina to be a full-timer at that point in his career. It would have been ugly (just like it was in '95). Ozzie should thank Larussa for putting him in a position to succeed in '96, so he wouldn't have to go out on the miserable note of 1995. You're probably right that Smith doesn't put up those #s over a full season, but arguing that he doesn't have the stamina to be a full time starter based on his 156 ABs in '95 is bat**** insane.
  11. Dempster needs to manage a team to the world series before he starts talking about kids who's father's been there before. It's just how baseball works, he's gotta earn his way by being an ugly douchebag. But seriously, what are Ozzie's kids doing in the dugout in the first place? MLB supposedly cracked down on non-team personell being allowed in the clubhouse.
  12. Agreed...I call BS on AJ Pieralphabet. I watched him say that on PTI and you could tell he was making that s*** up. He also said on PTI that all this is affecting his 9 month old daughter. Then I think he realized that was a foolish statement and quickly explained that it is affecting his wife and in turn that affects his daughter. Such a matyr. Sounds like a taunt for Vance. Hey AJ how's your mistress affecting your 9 month old daughter?
  13. Stone's been saying this for months.
  14. i thought len or hawk had said that, odd as it was, there were no pre-game warnings after z hit iguchi. Whoa, I completely missed something today. I took a little nap during the game, and have no clue that any of this happened. Details? basically aj hit a solo shot off of z, and he must have said something to carlos while rounding the bases because carlos started yelling in the direction of either aj/sox bench/joey cora @ 3rd while doing the whole two fingers in his eyes then two fingers towards his eyes like 'look at me' thing. then aj, after crossing the plate, kissed his hand and pointed to the sky ala carlos, and ozzie ran out to say something, who knows what. it was funny because for a second, carlos settled down after it quite well, it made me think that ozzie may have better control over the cubs than baker does. ha. Wow, thanks. I had no clue that happened. Anyone have a video link? AJ is a complete a**. The Sox need to find something else for comedy. The "imitating Cubs celebration" shtick got old about the 2nd time Jose Valentin did Sammy's kiss thing. With all there is to make fun of, they can certainly find something better than imitating Z. To emphasize that AJ is an a**, he came up with some "personal" (affecting someone in his family) meaning for his pointing to the sky and then told the media that it was none of there business. AJ, be a man and admit that you we're mimicking Zambrano instead of pretending that there's a personal situation at home. Lay off, his mistress probably just got out of plastic surgery.
  15. I think this has a lot more to do with Hill's "admission of guilt" than anything he feels personally. If you're GM says you screwed up, you say you screwed up. It certainly would be odd that somebody goes back on what they said just 24 hours earlier. Especially something not said in the heat of the moment(3 hours after the collission.
  16. I think I'd find something to keep myself occupied with for 30M. Money can't buy happiness, but it can buy preoccupation.
  17. Ask him what it was like working with Alan Thicke and Kirk Cameron for all those years.
  18. did D. Lee really get suspended?? I kinda doubt it since it wasn't mentioned in the original report. WSI is worthless.
  19. I don't think MLB suspended Barrett for 10 games because his punch landed, but because his punch was what ignited a bench-clearing fight--a fight that wouldn't have happened had Barrett not punched AJP. Something always ignites fights, the person that ignites the fight almost never gets a suspension that huge.
  20. I'm going to assume you're joking. In most cases, you can do more damage throwing a baseball at a person than delivering one punch to the face
  21. Is he wearing an Angels uni on the box?
  22. I definitely agree he's annoying as hell. Still though, if I'm a rook with an 0-6 record, I'm not giving the likes of Ozzie any ammunition on the eve of being sent down. I hope Hill can recover from it. I'll bet he slept very little last night---and he didn't strike me as a guy with the thickest of skins. If I'm a rook with an 0-6 record why should I care what some incoherent clown on the other side of town has to say?
  23. Mabry being suspended is insane. And relative to previous suspensions, Barrett's is way too long. You can't punish a guy just cause he was competent enough to ladn a punch instead of misfiring. And even if you did, Farns's punches on Wilson were way worse than Barrett's.
