    Except for the part about the strain in his shoulder(right?) I agree with the original tone, there are definitely Prior haters on this board who lump him in with Wood unfairly.

    Great synopsis. The only nitpick: If that request is not granted by the start of spring training, the player may elect to become an unrestricted free agent It's not automatic, and for a case like Javy Vazquez, after seasons of 4.91 and 4.42 ERAs, it would have been tough for him to walk away from the 2/$24M left on his deal if the DBacks had not honored his trade request. See Rick Reed and the Twins for an example. They didn't trade him and he remained with the team, as nobody in their right mind was paying Rick Reed 8M that season. The other thing that doesn't apply to any of our guys yet is 10-5 privleges(Player has 10 years in the bigs, 5th year with the team), he gains a NTC.

    Konerko in LF would be fall down hilarious. Worse than Hundley in LF. Salisbury's an idiot. The reason Anderson is still in CF is because the White Sox have nobody that's even respectable defensively out there. Their "backup" is Mackowiak who is just hilariously bad out there.(See Michael Barrett's triple)

    Because Paul Tagliabue is smarter than Bud Selig. Steroids are a far bigger problem in football than they are in baseball.

    Thank you tree. As long as baseball stays readily available for me to view, I could care less how the faces of the game are portrayed. If my enemies go down in the process, then that's just tremendous.

    Of course it's not too late. Patterson was systematically ruined by the Cubs over the past 5 years and is thriving.(Please don't turn this into another CPatt thread) It seems that the Cubs coaches work quite well with veterans(Lee, Ramirez, Walker, Alou), but can't do it with guys who are still developing. It seems as if they can tweak a guy who already has his ways set and only needs minor assistance, but if somebody is learning on the job the staff's one track mind ruins him.

    Speaks good English??? Are you serious? Most people can't understand a word he says. He does pronounce the vulgarities surprisingly well, however. There's a difference between using good grammar and complete sentense structure and having an overwhelming accent that makes it difficult to understand English I don't know if I'd call using the F word every 5th word good grammar and sentence structure.

    Ordonez's contract is a 5 year one I believe, for way too much money. A guy with mysterious injuries for a 5 year committment is a terrible idea.

    Here's a pretty good description... the Rockets were pretty clutch in '94 and '95. Ha, ha. I was joking about the Rockets being good in the mid-90's. That was over 10 years ago, and the city takes it nickname from it? Its never a good idea to give yourself a nickname. What does that make Chicago, with the Bulls winning 6 titles in 8 years? And Jordan's obsession with playing baseball is the only reason why the Rocket's have those two championships. I thought it was Jordan's obsession with gambling.

    Lisa needs braces! DENTAL PLAN! And I said probably not, but not by a lot. Stat wise, and lineup construction, I'd run circles around him, but motivation, and controlling a clubhouse I wouldn't stand a chance.

    Hopefully that means that the rumors of him already having a deal are not true. No, it probably just means he won't be announcing it right now, because the Cubs didn't win 3 games in a row. As soon as they do (and they will, sometime), he will be officially extended. Extending Dusty with the team 15 games under 500 would be flat out embarrassing.
