  1. Wasn't it Ozzie who so eloquently said "F the cubs?" "F the Cubs" means something different in Venezuela.
  2. Jim Jones had a course laid out and stuck to it. How'd that work out?
  3. I have both. Definitely Berkman.
  4. Do these moves make me look dumb or really dumb?(Keeper League) 1st round: Felix Hernandez 2nd round: Jhonny Peralta
  5. Hey D-Backs, please don't have him lose rookie status. I'd really like to keep him for free on my fantasy team.
  6. He already is one of the top catchers in baseball. If he improved his defense he would arguably BE the top catcher. Piazza was arguably the top catcher in baseball and his defense was not much better than Barrett's is, imo. I don't think his defense is so bad that it severely discredits or takes away from his offense. Piazza's defense has never been as good as Barrett's is right now.
  7. The answer is cheat. Lights in the scoreboard, stealing signs, pine tar on the bat, it's the only way.
  8. Absolutely, I could not have put it better. Throughout my teenage years in the mid 90's, when I was drumming for rock bands at party's and stuff, we played ALOT of Pearl Jam and Greenday stuff. I personally enjoyed playing drums on Green Day tunes because they are so quick and fun. Tough decision, but I went with Pearl Jam because I feel that Green Day has alot of songs that sound very similar. I'm not a fan of bands that stick to one formula of tune. I realize Green Day has improved in recent years with that, but I still went with Pearl Jam. I've heard that Green Day is fantastic live while Pearl Jam sucks live. probably the most incorrect statement ever uttered on these boards. 2nd, I've never seen Green Day live, but Pearl Jam was great.
  9. Tough call, I really like Pearl Jam, but went with Pink Floyd.
  10. When the Reds run out Royce Clayton, starting SS on a regular basis it will be a very bad deal for them. I was referring to Brendan Harris with that quote, actually. If Clayton starts, it definitely is a problem for them. I don't understand where people are getting the notion that Phillips will be switched to SS from. Was there a quote somewhere from Cinci saying this? If their problem with Lopez was his D, they could've just switched him and Phillips if they were comfortable with Phillips at SS.
  11. I've seen DMB live, and own a few CDs. I went with Pumpkins easily. I've grown out of a lot of DMB.
  12. When the Reds run out Royce Clayton, starting SS on a regular basis it will be a very bad deal for them.
  13. I'm not one for hyperbole, but, This might be the worst trade (at the time of the trade) in MLB history.
  14. I've only seen Pearl Jam live once, (and never seen GD) but I thought it was outstanding. I think I'm in the minority as a big PJ fan. Green Day is fine, but they're nothing special to me. I saw PJ front row center at the Allstate a few years ago. It was outstanding. It would've been great from the back row, too, but, well, I wasn't in the back row. ps-any English majors that can tell me whether my rare 4 consecutive comma-ed words is actually correct? I was an English major for a bit. The comma after row is definitely wrong. The one after "too" is either right or should be a semicolon. It's an awkwardly written sentence that you usually wouldn't see in print because it's written as a person speaks. Proper grammar wouldn't have the "well" in there, but with what you were trying to convey, it seems necessary.
  15. I'm with this guy. What they said Piling on. Beating the dead horse.
  16. CBS wouldn't have a clue what game to switch to with these 12-5 matchups.
  17. Foot in mouth. Ozzie took Konerko as long as a few other lone reps I think.
  18. Isiah says oops!
  19. I never "got" The Ramones.
  20. My favorite part of the 2 idiots calling that marthon on Sunday was that Guillen didn't pick Schilling because he was slated to pitch on Sunday. They said that it's so tough to pick and all star team and nobody looks at stuff like that, and what Ozzie did was go through all the starters on Sunday, and wouldn't take any of them. WHILE CONTRERAS WAS IN THE [expletive] GAME. Don't get me wrong Contreras deserved it more than Schilling, but call a spade a spade, don't be intentionally ignorant.
  21. What's the rest of the NL going to do?
  22. BUT LOU'S GOT FIRE!!!! Don't mind saying I told you so.
  23. You'd have to know Uncle John's Band and Casey Jones.
  24. Was not expecting Rush to be a 5.
