Hendry is just Dusty's enabler. Both are problems.

 

Yes, but let's not absolve Dusty of any wrong-doing here just because Hendry got outbid (foolishly) by the Dodgers.

Hendry put all of his eggs in the Furcal basket and it's going to cost us big.. Ladies and Gentlement allow me to introduce to you the Cubs SS. Neifi Perez. This is terrible.

While I'm not going to criticize Hendry for not matching Furcal's offer, I do wonder what his plan is now.

 

In all of my armchair-GM scenarios, I had Furcal as our SS. Without him, I'm not so sure how to build a division-winning team in 2006. Thankfully, it's not my job to know.

 

Hendry, you better have a plan.

No choice now. The FA mkt is drying up quickly. This could mean saying goodbye to prospects we like...

 

As long as Baker is our manager, that might be the best use of a great number of our prospects.

We really are in some deep doodoo now if the whole furcal to the dodgers thing is true.

 

We focused everything we had on furcal, and now, we missed out. We now have to pursue improvments through trade. And other teams know that we are in a panic state of mind, also. So they will make us overpay. THis could suck.

Really there is no sense in keeping them anyway. Cedeno may be a far superior SS to Neifi but under Dusty he will never get a chance on the Cubs. Same goes with Murton, Hill, etc.

Sad, and true. The only time he played young position players was when Hendry traded his other options out from under him. Get that crap out muh face!

ESPNews is not reporting any MLB news. Its not like they need things to talk about tonight though so they might just wait for confirmation. They got burned a couple times in the last couple years.

this is really upsetting....Another year of wait till next season......This team needs a new direction..........this sucks....the cubs suck
