  1. He and Vitters are the poster children of the poor approach to player development under Hendry. Overly aggressive promotions, no focus on controlling the zone, etc. Fortunately, I think they are both young enough to still make adjustments. Unfortunately, we may not have the new philosophy baked throughout the system in time to make that impact. So Tim, Would you move Vitters Lake and a few others to say the midwest league for the 2012 season? For season long Theo development?
  2. So why was vitters left off?
  3. Does this move signal the fact that they don't think to highly of CC...?
  4. Has anyone seen Vitters in person? Is he starting to make some adjustments at AA...His avg is creeping close to .280
  5. send some pickle juice down these asap
  6. So, is the Vitters 3rd base experiment over? or is his arm sore...?
  7. Year 6 thru 10 is going to be a killer to whatever team that signs Pujols...The best thing for the Cubs might be if the cards resign him to that 10 year deal.. Of course for the 1st 4-5 years watchout
  8. If Chipper retires would the Braves owe him his 2011 contract? I assume he is under contract and is probably making close to the same money as Aram....Aram has been the best 3rdbaseman I have seen the cubs have...It would be hard to replace him...Vitters probably won't be ready for 2 years and won't be major league produtive for 3 to 4... Still, Lee Aram Sori have been disappointing and have not lived up to their past...
  9. Maybe we would have won a few more games with a little more hustle... I don't think DLee missing from the line would have hurt the overall record of this team....
  10. All your ideas stupid too...Quit your bitching, baby... Vitters is one of the top prospects we have and he might be able to win a spot next year..He was starting to heat up little and he's just 21...I would put more faith in him than in Lee..A good fall league showing and who knows... Besides, can he play third base, so far he has struggled at the position.... A move to 1st might be the answer...And hey it was just an idea...lighten up Francis Vitters cannot hit his way out of AA and now he's hurt. Why would the Cubs put any faith that he'll be playing in Chicago any time soon? That's just stupid as is the Lee is a loser stuff.
  11. you are slitting hairs..... Cubs have no chance and the teams below us in the standings have owned us this year... Dlee's losing attitude is a cancer... He is a waist on the 40 man roster... We're not a last place team – there are two teams currently behind us in the standings. The Angels are also only 6 games better than us and still 8.5 games out of first place, currently sitting in third place in their division. Going to the Angels would only put DLee in a marginally better position to make the playoffs.
  12. If Vitters can hit enough he would play 1st...His short comings at third could clear up though
  13. My two cents...or Less...This is exactly the problem...We have players that are used to losing and it doesn't bother them...Maybe Z was in the right for blasting his sub par play and effort.... DLee would rather play for a last place team than have a chance to be on another winning team at age 35... He should be waived before he infects Castro and Colvin anymore..
  14. I'm sure sori's on the block too...Nobody is going to take that garbage
  15. if he's got a higher ceiling than a 20 year old guy hitting .300 in the majors playing the same position..This Jr. Lake must really be something...I see that his birthday is in 1990 making him 20..So what is that in Dominican years?
  16. I wish him luck...Hey if Carl Pavano made it back...So can Prior
  17. I have read Ted Lilly's name mentioned here and there but what about Silva? And what is a realistic trade parnter and value for either. Also its a shame Grabow got hurt when he did. He was actually pitching well since his return. I believe this team is going to shed some serious payroll in the next 2 years.
  18. was he a roids guys? I thought at one time I read he was suspected...
  19. Why reach for a guy in the first when you could draft him in the 2nd or 3rd...Colvin is turning out better than people expected so he could be fine...I'm just dont understand the reach
  20. Bring Cashner up now...He isn't a china doll...Have him gain some experience at the major league level...Don't burn the kid out but he can definately help the team out this year...At a Certain point AAA doesn't mean much and a guy cannot learn anymore...Not sure if thats true for Cashner or not yet...Does he have 3 pitches he can control?
  21. I don't think having cashner get some big league experience in the pen is a bad thing at all. Most pitchers cut there teeth going that route...Now jerking them back and forth between aaa starting and bull pin doesn't work well
  22. What necessity? The Cubs aren't going anywhere in 2010. good one
  23. Why? Great experience...Its the hardest role to file in the majors...teaches them to try to be patient..I just think you put your best hitters at 1 and 3....from there you can bat anywhere...Patterson and Pie might be bad examples but what if Patterson was groomed to be a leadoff hitter from the age of 18 instead of Dusty throwing him in there to learn how on the fly...Just thought
  24. Why are the Cubs batting Castro and Jackson in the 2 hole...Shouldn't they be grooming both of these players to bat leadoff?
