Looks like VT jumped the Irish. No complaints about that, or about anything else in this poll.

Anyone give Arkansas a shot against LSU? I wouldn't be surprised if the Razorbacks at least made it close.

I'd be shocked. Remember the Trojans scored 70 on them.

Mizzou's season is over and probably wont get a bowl game. :(

Everything I've read so far is saying that Mizzou will get a bowl, I'd be extremely surprised if they didn't. Granted, the bowl they get won't be any good, but we'll get to see Brad Smith and Co. one more time methinks.

Geaux Tigers. Moving into a good spot in the event Texas or USC gets upset.

Really? Wow, I just assumed that after the loss to K-State and a 6-5 finish, we were done. What bowls are being mentioned?

Houston, Champs Sports, and Fort Worth bowls, the Independence bowl wasn't completely ruled out either.

Except that PSU is above LSU in the BCS, and will likely be there this week as well. Maybe LSU will jump them to #3, but prior to Saturday, it was Miami at #3, PSU at #4 and LSU at #5

Since there is so much hub-bub about who does/doesn't deserve to be in the BCS at-large picture, I thought I'd quickly list the teams and who they lost to (with the score):

LSU - Tennessee (30-27)

Virginia Tech - Miami (27-7)

Oregon - USC (45-13)

UCLA - Arizona (52-14)

Ohio State - Texas (25-22), Penn State (17-10)

Notre Dame - USC (34-31), Michigan State (44-41)

Georgia - Florida (14-10), Auburn (31-30)

Auburn - Georgia Tech (23-14), LSU (20-27)

Alabama - LSU (16-13), Auburn (28-18 )

Miami - Florida St. (10-7), Georgia Tech (14-10)

Texas Tech - Texas (52-17), Oklahoma State (24-17)

West Virginia - Virginia Tech (34-17)

I know they are probalby done until a bowl game. I was just wondering is there a team in the country that has been more impressive lately than the Auburn Tigers. I would have them ranked higher but they do have 2 losses so they really dont have room to complain. Until last year I never really liked Tubberville but after going undefeated last year. Then after a rough start and losing alot of key players they have just rolled on everyone except for games at Georgia(which they won) and at LSU(a close loss). Anyway Tubberville has to start being considered a top echelon coach

Texas Tech - Texas (52-17), Oklahoma State (24-17)

West Virginia - Virginia Tech (34-17)

Allow me to run through this quickly...

LSU - Will probably win the SEC and get their automatic bid. If they lost it would be hard not to give them an at-large berth, but we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.

Va Tech - Will probably win the ACC and take the automatic bid. IMO if they were to lose to FSU in the ACC title game or to UNC next week, they would be eliminated from at-large consideration and rightfully so.

Oregon - Probably the team that is getting screwed worst. Their USC loss wasn't particularly impressive-looking, but for a one-loss team to be passed over for an at-large berth would be very unfortunate. Should UCLA beat USC, I think Raisin said that Oregon would get the Pac-10's bid for reasons I haven't gathered.

UCLA - IMO they shouldn't be considered for an at-large unless they beat USC. That Arizona game was just too ugly.

OSU - Probably deserving of a BCS berth, unless USC and/or Texas were to lose their final games, in which case OSU would probably be pushed out.

ND - Obviously hottest-button issue on this board. So as to not open up a can of worms, I'll just say that if they beat Stanford they will get a BCS berth, deserving or not.

Georgia - If they beat LSU in the title game, they get the automatic berth. If not, they are eliminated from consideration.

Auburn - Probably out of the picture. That Georgia Tech loss was extremely damaging, and unless LSU somehow loses to Arkansas they don't get another game to prove themselves.

Bama - Out of the picture. If Prothro doesn't get hurt, they're still unbeaten IMO, but as it is they have no shot.

Miami - Out of the picture for an at-large bid IMO. If Va Tech lost to UNC, they'd get a shot at the ACC title, but that's obviously unlikely.

Texas Tech - No shot. They don't deserve one with their ridiculously bad schedule.

WV - Will get in as the Big East's representative unless USF wins out. If they fail to win the conference, they have no shot.

If LSU wins out beating Georgia in the SEC championship, I think they will have a decent chance to jump to third in the computer rankings as well.

BIG GAMES

-------------

(13) Georgia @ (20) Georgia Tech

Game of the Week. Saturday Night for a national ABC audience. Calvin can start making his case for the 2006 Heisman.

!

Raisin's fantasy team needs a big game from Mr. Johnson.

Thanks for the tip to draft him early, he's been as big at WR as Braylon was for me last year (plus he's a fantastic keeper). :D

ndistps, I agree with your assessment except for LSU. If they lose in the SEC championship game they are probably out. I obviously think that Auburn would also be getting the screw but if you were to put OSU, ND and Auburn a solid case could be made for all three. Since only 2 of them are going to make it that leaves someone unhappy. I wish they would just go to a 16 team tournament. Put in ALL the conference champs and 6 or 7 at large teams. This would include any team with any chance of winning a National Championship and let the best team win.

Well everything I hear now says that the Orange will pick OSU over PSU. That leaves a ND/PSU Fiesta Bowl. I think that would be a great game, but it kind of sucks for PSU that they won they BCS berth, and will not be the preferred team in the OB.

Now THAT is messed up. These bowls should have to give preference to conference winners

I'm not sure about this anymore. The LA Times hasn't mentioned anything about this in a week and other publications are now saying the Pac-10 will go to the winner of UCLA-USC. :-k

Technically they are Co-Big Ten champs. But i agree with your point.

Is that really true? They have identical records, but PSU won head-to-head.

It is technically true.

Ohio State and Penn State Share Big Ten Title While Nittany Lions Earn First BCS Berth in School History

Nov. 21, 2005

Ohio State and Penn State Share Big Ten Title: In the final weekend of conference action, Ohio State and Penn State secured a share of the 2005 Big Ten Championship by taking care of business on the road.

They share the title, but PSU gets the automatic BCS bid because of the head to head win. In the old days they would have secured the Rose Bowl bid.
