FACT: Cold weather sucks. It's very depressing. It's also very uncomfortable.

Warm weather is awesome. It's very relaxing.

Summary: I hate cold weather.

My Telecommunications prof answered this one for me today:

Better to have weather you can bundle up for then have weather that's too hot no matter what you're wearing.

Bingo. Plus, it's great for sleeping. Anyone going to argue against my pro-sleeping agenda?

And I agree on the refreshed feeling.

I made the mistake of riding my bike back from the gym in shorts when the wind chill was about 18 degrees today, but other than that, I love it. Can't wait for some real snow.

Sleeping in cold weather is great. It is a great feeling to just be able to get under a big pile of blankets.

I also like being able to wear big sweaters all the time. Much more comfortable. Only thing I miss is flip-flops.

That's why you crank up the AC, turn on a box fan, and turn on a ceiling fan in the summer. Trust me, you'll need some blankets during the night.

Cold weather sucks. When my body is actually in pain because of the temperature, it means it's way too cold. I hate having to get out of bed when it's cold. I hate having to start my car for 10 minutes before I leave so it can warm up. Unfort., I'm always running short on time (because it took me so long to roll out from under my warm covers), so I usually can't wait for it to warm up. Then I have to drive in an unheated car for 15 minutes until it finally warms up. By that time I'm nearly at my destination.

85 and humid sucks too, but not nearly as much as the cold.

I have woken up many a night after the bars and been able to see my breath in the middle of summer. I am always hot and when I get drunk I decide I need to turn the AC as low as it will go to get it cooler faster (which doesn't work), then I pass out. Also I am unable to sleep at night without a fan on.

I really love the cold. Right now it sucks, because I did not expect it, but in about a week I will be happy as can be. I normally turn off the heat vents in my room during the winter, making sleep great-and getting up impossible.

I love sleeping with the AC on. My roommate last year had to hate it when I still had the fan on in mid-November with the window open.

That's a character from The Office. Don't know the actor's name though, or his character's, even though I watched it last night. I do know that he convinced a coworker that it was Friday when it was really Thursday though.

Ahhh, ok, I think I know who you're talking about. Haven't watched that show much but I'm pretty sure I know who it is. Think his name's Jim isn't it?

The character is Jim. His real name is John Krasinski. I like how he gives each of my posts a thumbs up. A stamp of approval, if you will.

Cold weather = no flip-flops. :(

Hot weather = girls in bikinis. :)

I'll wear sandals til it gets into the 20s (or I have to walk through snow)

Actually, the thumbs-up is showing his approval of the re-signing of Neifi and Rusch.

I cannot vote in this poll because as a meteorologist, I love the changes in the seasons. I love the warmth in the summer, and I love snow in the winter. I will say that cold and windy without snow really sucks badly, although we have had some nights here where we've gotten down into the -10 range and taken a car ride out to this old mining area where temps tend to crash about 5-10 degrees below everywhere else around... something about lack of vegetation, I think.

I also have become very anti-humidity in the summer. Probably because I live here and dewpoints don't get above 60 very much, whereas on the coastal plain to the east, they have considerably higher humidity. I was really suffering during the couple of months I was down at Miami... the Florida humidity is rough for this guy of Swedish ancestry.

Cold sucks. Wind sucks. Snow really, really sucks. Warmth is awesome. Humidity, though less awesome than dry warmth, is still pretty darn good. And who can complain about the sun, giver of all life?

Summer gives us great things; barbeques, fireworks, and baseball. Winter breeds nothing but fruitcake, ice scrapers, and the NBA. Sixteen hours of beautiful daylight put leaves on the trees and let the flowers bloom. The perpetual gloom of this time of year produces nothing but the rotting stench of death and clogged gutters. You may keep your winter months, sir, and stick them where the sun don't shine. Wake me up next spring, when the days of swimming pools and ice-cold drinks are once again upon us.

In summary: I freakin' hate winter. Vehemently. I'd rather it be 110 degrees than 50. (It should probably be noted that I'm saying this after having to drag myself out of bed at 4:00 A.M. on a 20 degree morning.)

I grew up on the shores of Lake Micigan. I spent 23 years there in cold and snow. Then I lived in the tropics.

I'll take the tropics
