He's going to be suspended for the first semester. It's pretty disappointing. We've got to tighten the ship, IMO. Too much has happened in the last 4 years, with some of it happening under Roy, some under Self.

As for it being the same thing that happened to UI, I don't know if that's true. We only know the bare details of both situations. But I don't think this is the last we'll hear of it. According to a poster on phog.net, the ruling we just saw was solely regarding DJs eligibility. That's entirely separate from the infractions committee.

before attending the Maui Invitational.

worst tournament ever

What do you have against Maui? It's usually one of the best preseason tournaments in college basketball.

Plus it gives us all an opportunity to see Chaminade in action.

The fact that it is normally really hot and humid on the court. There are always a ton of cramps at those games. It's really not fun to watch a game when half of the starting lineups go down with cramps at some point.

I didn't realize that was only the players ruling. I just think there is too much crap going on at all schools right now yet nothing really happens. Either tighten the rules and enforce what needs to be enforced, or just get the farce over with and pay the players. Congress has to keep poking its issues in on sports and ignore the good of the country they should go here next imo.

Mizzou loses to Sam Houston State at home. I'm glad I had a test so that I didn't waste my time attending, or watching more than part of the first half.

Ouch. What happened to Mr. Quin? :P

That's Mr. Snyder to you.

What a frustrating performance. But without an effective inside player (Keving Young < Nick Smith), I have a feeling that most of our games this season will be disappointing.

Ball State forced 28 turnovers in their exhibition game against Saginaw Valley. If that performance is any indication of our defense for the regular season, I am hard-pressed to find a team that can take a possible MAC title from us, with the exception of the defending champs the Bobcats.

We'll likely find out a lot about Ball State in two December games: vs Butler and vs Indiana. However since the Hoosiers refused to schedule us during the school year and I live 3 hours away from BSU, I won't be able to go to the IU game. I could voice my opinion about that but the results wouldn't be family friendly.

Saginaw Valley?

Saginaw Valley State to be precise, I think they're a D-II team. It was an exhibition game after all.

Are you guys seeing what Duke is doing to Seton Hall?? Geez...those guys could go unbeaten playing like that.

Syracuse and Florida is a whale of a game, great action and great plays abound. Florida up 5 with under 5 to play.

Once Mac starts hitting his J's we will be one tough team to beat. Florida earned the win last night.

BSU faces Oakland City tonight in their season opener. The so called "Mighty Oaks" apparently lost by 60 or something to Butler, who is a far inferior team to the Cards, so this should be ugly.

UCLA beat Temple last Thursday, but C Micheal Fey (shoulder) and PG Jordan Farmar (sprained ankle) got hurt. So many injuries. :(

UCLA is going to MSG to meet Memphis for the rest of the NIT next week.

Michigan State got blown out at Hawaii, 84-62. Days like this it's not so great to be a sports fan. Hopefully they'll bounce back and have a good showing at Maui. According to the recap they had some cramping issues, so much that they had 4 freshman on the floor for parts of the final 10 minutes.

Ball State looked awful today in beating Oakland City 78-72. (A team that lost by 62 to Butler.) It didn't help matters that the officials were less than favorable to the Cards, that BSU couldn't hit their free throws, and that the Oaks played pretty damn well in the 2nd half. If they'd played just about any other team in Division I, this one would probably have been an L. Much improvement is needed before the next game at Wright State.

WHAT? MSU got destroyed! That's wonderful. My team had a great showing to open the season. 3 players had career nights, including future All Big-Teamer Marco Killingsworth in his first basketball game since March 04. 27 assists on 38 baskets. 55-21 rebound advantage. Marshall Strickland able to hit shots. And this without 2 starters (White, Ratliff), a 3-year letter winner (Wilmont), and with Vaden just going thru the motions.

Bring on Duke.......or not

ND opens up with an 18-point win over Lafayette. In his debut as a starter, Rob Kurz looks great, firing up an 18/8. Francis with 14 boards and Rick Cornett contributes 10 off the bench. An all-around solid performance by the Irish.
