The Bulls got the Knicks pick. With this draft getting two players early won't help much. Too bad it's a terrible free-agent year. But they Bulls need to get that 7th spot to avoid Detroit first round. Great job Skiles and the whole Bulls team!

The more I think about it, the more I'd like to trade down 4 or 5 spots with a team that wants to move up to the top because even the couple guys I like might not come out.

Trade down for what? This isn't the NFL draft, where 2nd and 3rd round picks are almost as valuable as 1st round picks. 2nd round picks are infrequently successful in the NBA. I hope and think the Bulls will take the best big available with their top 4 pick.

Wow, the Bulls are in 8th place now. They might actually make the Playoffs. I have heard Bulls fans who do not want the Playoffs and hope for a high draft pick. Give me the playoffs, you never know what might happen.

I agree, although I know they're not going anywhere in the playoffs. The chances of the ping pong balls giving them a top 3 are miniscule from that position.

I would much rather have the playoffs and go nowhere than have the Bulls sitting at home. Good experience for them, especially since they're so young. I'm really excited about what this team could do with a few good draft picks. I like their core.

Get a decent reserve who can play D in the trade (Trenton Hassell). I would trade the pick for Darko too but Orlando just gave thier pick for him so it probably wouldnt happen.

Basically for the offseason, it is a bad FA class, but these players seem attractive to me for the Bulls to acquire:

-Jermaine O'Neal (been lots of rumors about a deal between the Bulls and Pacers)

-Kevin Garnett (might have to give up too much)

-Ben Wallace (who knows, if the price is right...but doubtful)

-Al Harrington (probably a bit overrated because his recent numbers come on bad Atlanta teams - see Knight, Brevin)

-Nazi Muhammad (probably the worst of the choices, but would still give the Bulls a relatively good upgrade down low, but I would prefer someone who has better offensive skills)

Also, Silvy and Carmen were on this morning talking about how Andres Nocioni is now "untradable". At first I was taking it with a grain of salt, but then I started to think about it. How hard is it to get an undersized player at his position that can rebound over people 6-7 inches taller, can score inside on seemingly more physical players, puts 137% effort into his game every night, is a physical defender who will frustrate whoever he is guarding, and is now developing an above average jumper.

Sure he makes his mistakes, I swear he's going to set the record for most traveling violations in a season at some point. But this kind of super utility player (who suprisingly can step it up and play like a star at times) is what seperates a talented team with a good team.

Last 16 games (pts-reb):

21-13

14-12

13-11

24-11

26-10

12-5

2-4

17-10

18-5

14-12

25-9

13-3

9-6

15-6

23-9

24-4

Thats 16.9 PPG, 8.1 RPG over a 16 game period. Throw out the outlier games, and Noc is a bonafied star over that period.

Scoreboard-watching:

Philadelphia, Indiana and Milwaukee ALL lost tonight. Milwaukee next plays red-hot New Jersey, while Indiana next plays Detroit on the road.

A Bulls win over Philly on Saturday could well lead to being 1/2 out of the 6th spot when we wake up Monday morning.

Interesting turn of events to be sure. I was on the "miss the playoffs" bandwagon because I felt an early defeat to Detroit wouldn't be useful, but if they can miss both Detroit and Miami, well then we're talking

Gotta keep it rolling though. One little slip and we could lose back all that ground.

The Bulls could beat New Jersey. We've already killed them before this year and they will be just cooling off from this hot streak by the playoffs.

it really is an indictment of the Eastern Conference that 2 maybe 3 teams will make the playoffs with a losing record. That's just pathetic.
Posted
The East will become strong in the next year or two. The Bulls and Orlando should become forces soon. Darko is looking really good now that he has a chance to play.

a win tomorrow would put us 2 up on Philly, but in reality 3 since we have the tiebreaker. Basically a win tomorrow should pretty much ensure us making the playoffs.

6th is a definite possibility now. Milwaukee has a pretty tough schedule the rest of the way and Indiana just continues to lose to the bottom feeders.

Deng and Piatkowski collided with their heads in practice this morning and neither will be available tonight. Piatkowski supposedly had 18 stitches to his face and Deng has a mild concussion..

Losing Deng is a huge blow.

That's bad luck. Guess we will be seeing a lot of Pargo.

The officiating is off to a great start. The first foul called on Malik was really something.

Yeah, I didn't know you could just run with the ball until you run into someone and draw a foul.

The word has obviously come down from Stern to the officials: "do whatever it takes to get Iverson in to the playoffs."

He took a couple of steps, left the ground, landed, and then ran into his own teammate to get the call. Odd.

God, will someone please hit an open shot?

Freaking 6ers don't play a lick of D and we can't take advantage.

Yes. That was a disappointing loss. They didn't even show up tonight. It wasn't Deng either. There were open shots all over the place.
