Depends how Clemens does, this should be the game that most favors the Astros this entire series as far as SP. Put Morris is a park where I can hit HRs and he's in trouble. This will be the last time the Astros will face Morris though, if it goes 7, you'll see Carpenter for a 3rd time.

Of course, we will see Carp in Game 5.

But they will also see Pettitte, Roy and Clemens twice if it goes 7. And hopefully Roy doesn't hit Pettitte in BP this time.

Also, I don' think you can discount the sad state of affairs in the Cards pen. And if Sanders isn't 100% that really hurts them.

They won't use Carpenter on 2 days rest, I forgot that MLB frowns upon that by having each series go 2-3-2, instead of 2-2-1-1-1. That eliminates an extra off-day and forces a 4 man rotation.

I like the pitching matchups for STL in Houston. I am not sure that Clemens has much left in his tank. He struggled through September and then pitched poorly against Atlanta in his start (although he did look good in relief). His hamstrings could give out at any moment. I wouldn't be surprised if the Cards win game three.

I also like the matchup of Suppan vs Backe in game 4, and I will take Carpenter over Pettitte as well. I look for a big series out of Edmonds in Houston. He likes to go to the opposite field which sets him up for a cheap home rune to the Crawford boxes.

I think the Cardinals will take 2 of 3 in Houston.

Oh and Reggie "Grace" Sanders being hurt doesn't help your cause.

Reggie is playing.

The Cardinals still have the edge. They will until Houston actually takes the lead I think. Coming into it when it was 0-0 they had the edge and it still holds now that it's 1-1. Your home field argument doesn't hold all that much water considering the Cards are 5-3 in Houston this year.

What was the 'stros record in STL this year? We split, which is all we needed to do.

Regular season means nothing now.

You should be more concerned about your pen.

What about the sad state of your lineup? At some point the pixie dust will wear off and Chris Burke will remember he is just Chris Burke. That and they have Albert Pujols and you don't.

The thing I don't get is that Houston is the "underdog" but everyone in the media is picking them. Doesn't that make them the favorite. I have no problem with everyone picking Houston for thier starting pitching (even though the starting pitching for STL has been better in the playoffs), but if everyone is picking them...they are the favorite not the underdog.

So, after three games in the NLCS... 8)

It's looking better, but Houston still has six more games to win before I'm going to start being confident. Here's hoping!
