One of the talking heads on The Score was saying that Aramis Ramirez had worn out his welcome in Wrigley by some of his antics and should be traded. I did not realize these feelings existed at all, and was surprised to hear it being stated. What has Ramirez done?

Anyway, if that is the case, what could we get in a trade for Ramirez? I would think he would only be traded for another great player.

Here is a partial list of mine:

Manny Ramirez

Adam Dunn

Alex Rodriquez

I think Ramirez for Manny Ramirez would be fantastic. Sign Nomar to play 3b, and have Manny in lf. Move Murton to rf. The only problem I have with such a lineup is it is all righthanded.

Lee

Walker

Cedeno

Nomar

Barrett

Manny

Patterson

Murton

That would work for me as long as we have some lefthanders on the bench who can fill in and hit, like John Mabry who I like very much as he can play several positions.

The talking head really didn't elaborate on it, just said it like it was a well known fact, of which I sure didn't know anything about. I only wish I knew what antics Ramirez has done. That is why I would ask the question myself, cause I do not know any antics he has done. I certainly am not one wanting to trade Ramirez. I love him at 3b. Our 3b hole has finally been filled, and very well in my opinion.

Yah, darn that Aramis. Playing through an injury for most of the season. Who does he think he is?

Seriously, it was probably a bunch of crap from Sox fans on the Score who probably want him playing 3B on the southside next year.

The "antics" probably being not running out grounders, and those rumors that we hear from time to time that he's "lazy."

Personally, from what I've seen/heard, I have no problem with Ramirez.

Ehh. Personally I love the guy. When he's not K'ing because he's swinging for the fences, he's awesome. He may not be 100%, & he may not be the best 3B, but he's one of our best hitters.

I remember Dave Kaplan getting mad at him for not running to first/walking with the bat when grounding out over the summer [i think Bob mentioned it once too], but that was it. & I mean, the guy was playing injured because we'd be screwed if he wasn't playing. [We wound up being screwed anyway, but you get my point..]

Be specific about which idiot on the score is talking. Most are useless, self serving fools that have no knowledge at all. So, which idiot are you referring to?

The only guys on the score that have been critical of ARam have been Boers and Bernstein, who rip on his "lack of hustle", or his "Dominican Bat Flip".

Personally, I'm sick of the Chicago media trying to find a scapegoat out of nothing. Ramirez was far and away our second best player, and had he not been hurt would very possibly hit more HR's and RBI's than Lee.

The Cubs won't be trading ARam because of "antics". He doesn't mouth off to the press, he doesn't argue on the field. There's no reason to deal him. If they do, they are absolute fools.

After all the abysmal third basemen that the Cubs have had, there should be almost no reason on earth to trade him. I agree, if he had played the full season, he would have put up MVP numbers. There are no antics.

I seriously hope Aramis wasn't listening in to that segment.

After hearing him during his press conference following his contract extension talk so lovingly about the Cubs, I don't want to ever see him leave. We've found a very good full-time third baseman for the first time in decades.

Dear media,

SHUT UP. We like Aramis.

Love,

Cubs Fans

It doesn't matter, they're all interchangeable idiots.

Speaking of The Score, does anyone have Maddux's numbers offhand in his past two seasons as a Yankee?

Or Pudge's as a Cub.

It was probably Terry Boers. When he's not fending off "stupid" callers who they yell at because they disagree with Boers' usual nonsense, he's offering such insightful analysis like, "(insert athlete or coach's name that they don't like) is a rectum."

I can get that kind of analysis from the homeless lady on the Lawrence bridge off the Kennedy. I expect much more out of the Score; they used to have some real insight. Guys like Les Grobstein (who I still think should be told about this place, because he's a diehard Cub fan, and possibly one of the smartest radio minds I've ever heard), Tommy Williams, Dan McNeil, heck even Mike North was palatable when he was with Dan Jiggets, Julie Swieca was pretty decent (though bitchy).

The Score has gone down the tube and thankfully their terrible ratings are continuing to decline.

Dusty's just using the Score to stir the pot and clear the way for signing Bill Mueller. :)

Knowing Dusty it would be Matt Williams.

Nah, dude, it had to be Charlie Hayes. I mean he did SAVE the Yankees with that catch to end the 1996 World Series. He could bring that magic to the Cubs.

You sound like a member of the broadcasting industry. An insider, if you will. Please tell me what you said about the Score's ratings plummeting is true. Oh, please...please.

I've been waiting for Chicagoans to wake up and flush Mike North for years. I mean outside of a 5 square block area in Bridgeport, does anyone really think the Score is a good radio station?

Yeah, that's a fairly odd statement.
