I remember when Mark Prior was actually a great pitcher, the most exciting pitching prospect to hit the big leagues since Dwight Gooden. Could that really have been just three short years ago?

Very disappointing. Prior and Wood == busts.

Prior still has time to turn it around. He's not going to be Doc Gooden, but he should be a solid contributor.

I agree about Wood being a bust. One more injury and he should just quit.

Two years ago, if you told me that in 2005, Prior would not have been considered for Cy, but Cris Carpenter would be the front-runner, I would have thought you were whacked.

That makes me sad. :(

2 years ago i was a lot happier about the cubs direction as a team, compared to where they are relative to the cards versus now

Me too but, as disappointed as we all are with Prior, I believe better days are ahead for him, in fact I wouldn't trade him for 10 Cris Carpenters.

Haha, two bad half-seasons make a bust.

I don't know about ten, but I'd trade him for one. Some folks have too much loyalty towards guys just because they wear the blue & white. This team needs a complete makeover, and if trading Prior makes the team better, so be it.

This has an eeery feeling of epitomizing the entire season...

Pat just says...'it is now up to Jose Macias'

That should be the slogan for the 2005 season.

How Macias can actually play for a major league team is beyond me.
