i just have absolutely no hope in this team going into next year. i know htey havent made any changes, but i just cant see any changes turning this team around

This season can't end soon enough.

This team is chock full of losers, which explains the fact that they can get swept at home by the freaking Pirates.

There are about six players I'd keep on this team going into next season; the rest should all be released.

what was the attendace in this game?

If it was more than 0, it's too many.

what other team had as much hope in their team going into the season as we did and yet finish so bad? I can't think of one. And yet the manager is still here...

Not really familiar with the area, had to move out here because of a new job in Naperville. I'm close to the little "town" center, not far from the Metra station.

Yeah, but we have to "honor his contract."

Right now I'd put Dusty up there with former FEMA head Mike Brown and NO Mayor Ray Nagin as the Most Incompetent Men in America.

Next year might be my last year as a Cubs fan. Thats how bad I see things right now.

You might have to change your name at least...maybe "LastYearofDaCubs"

And as they show the final shots of wrigley, they play green day's "wake me up when september ends"...

I feel that bitter laughter is appropriate here.

2004 was extremely frustrating, but this might be the most worthless, piece of crap underachieving team i in my lifetime have witnessed. PLEASE GOD LET US END THE CURSE!!!

Does anyone know the Cubs season batting average with RISP? It has got to be abolsutely awful!

.259, 10th in the NL. Their RISP OBP is .338, only better than Arizona.

Don't forget that they have the lowest pinch hitting BA in the league at .197

Hmmmm, I wonder why that is.....

I always look at the stats but this year I dont have to. I can see with my own eyes that this team sucks. It's embarrassing. I'm so disgusted right now that I cant wait for the season to be finished already and hope to not see Baker the clown for a looong time (hopefuly NEVER).

This is helped none by the fact that Neifi has been at the plate with RISP the third most times on the team (1 fewer opportunity than Ramirez!) and has hit .264/.288/.426. Patterson is 6th on the team for most opportunities with RISP and has hit an amazing .218/.273/.307.

Combined Corey and Neifi have gotten more than 17% of the Cubs AB's with RISP. Neither of them should have gotten these opportunities - the bench (preferably in another town) was an option.
