Some very nice games on the offensive side, particularly Lee and Patterson. Each hit the ball hard all afternoon. I just hope Corey's hand is okay.

UK, points well taken. I really didn't take into consideration that there were no outs in the inning. I was in a blind rage from the whippin' we were in the midst of.

 

Plus, I like my pitchers to go after every hitter. I don't like the concept of telling my pitcher that he might not get this guy out, complete confidence is letting pitchers succeed.

 

I understand where you're coming from. But, give La Russa credit -- he's one of the lone manager's that has pitched to Bonds over the past few seasons. His logic mirrors yours. He doesn't like the pitchers automatically conceding victory to Bonds.

With Hendry continuing to give public support to Baker, I doubt that Dusty will be fired. In either case, I can not root against the Cubs. Watching them lose continuously is far too painful.

Wow...I hate the Cubs so much. They play so bad and just when I'm about to be able to give up on 'em they go out and whoop St. Louis. By the way...this bumps my record up to 6-0 this year...and 10-0 in the last 2 years. Any way I can be included in Fred's stats?
