I wish Mulder would get his ****ing act together.

The trade is already regrettable with Haren't success in Oakland...if Barton amounts to anything, the trade will be the worst in Jocketty's tenure in St. Louis.

He just does not pitch inside!

He was awesome in the first half of 2004 and all of 2003.. what happened?

He has more walks and fewer strikeouts than Greg Maddux. They are really the same pitcher, except Mulder at this point throws more ground balls.

And holy hell, Corey walked.

Is that a fly buzzing?

Just kidding. :-) It's just that you won't get a lot of sympathy in here. :-)

Who was the last Cubs pitcher to hit a grand slam?

Kerry Wood did (in High School after he'd been drafted) :)

I wouldn't go that far. He is 13-5 with a 2.4ish ERA in his last six starts (obviously before today).

Wow, 18 decisions in 6 starts is impressive.

And LaRussa's laptop smashes into smithereens as Maddux's foul almost takes his head off.

(Just fabricating details to make it more interesting. :-))

I might value wins more if you can have 13 of them in a short amount of time.

I think if we can end the year with a winning record against the Cardinals, it won't be a complete failure.

I understand where you're coming from, but you sound like all too many Sox fans do against the Cubs.

Just want something positive about the season, and at least the Cards are our real rivals.

True enough. :-) But why would I root for the Cardinals in a Cards vs. White Sox series?

WHY ISNT LAWTON PLAYING?!?!?!

Because he hits left handed pitching like a schoolgirl. The bullpen is taxed, Maddux doesn't have an extreme pitchcount and he has a big lead. Leave him in to eat some innings(weeps for the option).

Maddux has thrown less than 20 balls

Yes, $9 mil is an awful lot for when the vesting option kicks in, but like I've said, he can still bring the big game when needed.

I just wish I didn't have to root AGAINST him for 13 years. Thanks a lot, Larry Himes.
