Derwood, I like your sig, but why is Barrett in there? he's done a lot more good than bad.

It was a tough call on who else to put in there. It could've been Hendry I guess. It definitely would have been LaTroy if he was still around. Perez, Macias and Hollandsworthless are definitely the "Dusty Boys" though.

There, we go, better?

Awesome sig.

Thanks. Sometimes pure misery will inspire you to new artistic heights.

Well, even the most promising lineup of the year is pathetic. Now Dusty can say he tried it out and, darn it, it just didn't work.

What other team can waste 4 leadoff walks?

or is it only three? I can't see very well after blowing blood vessels in both of my eyes.

Do we know who else was involved? And do you have a link to that? (not that I don't believe you, just that I dont' remember it).

It was something Bruce Miles either said on this site, or in one of his articles. I don't have the exact quote on me.

It was in the "Deal For Adam Dunn soon" thread. Everyone was wetting their pants about a deal of Hill/Mitre/Patterson for Dunn, and Bruce came in and said that there was no such deal, and that Hendry wouldnt even trade Hill straight up for Dunn.

Obviously that doesnt mean that the Reds offered us that deal, but if Bruce said it, I'm pretty much obliged to take him at his word that he knows Hendry wouldnt go for it.

Then I guess it shows the original quote was made up.

The quote was made up, but the fact that Hendry wouldnt trade Hill for Dunn, straight up is true.

Based on what?

Based on Bruce Miles saying it. I guess you're calling him a liar then.

That was Bruce's opinion at the time, just not a fact or a quote from Hendry.

How do you know it was Bruce's opinion? Maybe Hendry told him that he wasn't going to trade Hill straight up for Dunn.

Yeah, Im sure Bruce came over here to pawn off his opinion as fact. Believe what you want.

Actually, Hendry and the front office have done a good job of putting togather a great roster. It's the people in the dugout who are under-performing. I dont understand why Hendry doesnt give Dusty the "Streinbrenner treatment" and say something like,

"The Chicago Cubs front office and the Tribune Co. have put togather a team that should be winning a lot more than they are. If this team does not start winning, then changes WILL be made in the dugout."

Now, Macias, dude. He can flat out hit. He's saved us. Hitting almost .300.

Thought I'd check into the game thread. I can't watch the game, but are the fans seeking blood as much as you guys are making it seem

Well maybe someone else will step it up and deserve Hendry's spot in the lineup by year's end

I'm starting to think the Cubs might not win the World Series this year...

Well, that mad me

Yes hilarious Derwood.

The way Spacy's body is contorted, and Baker has that "I just started Macias in center, and batted Neifi 2nd" smirk on his face is blendid together is truly priceless.

Perhaps Hendry can't acknowledge error like The Boss.

This just gets better every inning. It's so bad you have to laugh I think. Or drive you to drink heavily.

Yes, either their winning so badly, you laugh. or they're losing so badly, you laugh.

I'll take the first one..

but still..

It's actually better now with Hendry, as it looks like he and Dusty are having a good laugh at all our expense. The body language on Dusty is priceless too. He has a "what, little innocent me?" thing going on.
