  1. Quick nothing post to go along with our offense to maybe shake ish up in the world. Stay blessed here all regardless.
  2. Much much thanks to TT/Xero and Bertz (for the start/chart) for the input and explanation/rationalization. VERY apprecited. So IF I have this "correct"....lets say the Cubs are in the "green" this year...ie: UNDER the tax threshold, and to make things easy and round for "arguments" sake...NEXT season they sign Harper and end up 25 million over the "threshold". They THEN would be, again if I understand correctly... "on the hook" to pay a 20% "tax" on THE AMOUNT OVER THE THRESHOLD...which in this rough case would be 5 million dollars (20% of 25 million)...THEN after 2019...when Zobrist comes off the books (That's almost half way to getting back that 30 alone) and again, for a rough arguments sake...let Strop 6.3/Cishek/6.5 and Duensing 3.5 walk and fill those spots from within, at league minimum...all else being equal (which I know isn't) would, for the purposes of this exercise (give or take a few hundred thousand), then put them back under the threshold for 2020...which is set at 208 mill. and "reset" the repeat offenders escalators..? Thanks fellas...
  3. Honest question...according to that chart how/where is the money to burn at..? Again, honest question because I REALLY don't know these things...and from the looks of that, aren't they over/under by 3.9 in the "red"...just trying to gain an honest understanding as I have Cardinal fans telling me that Harper would put us over the luxury cap by the 30 million (if that is what he commands) ANY help would be appreciated. As maybe I am missing/reading things wrong...certainly wouldn't be the first time.
  4. Refused to post out of fear of jinxing this thing. I apologize to ANY and ALL I have rubbed the wrong way....YOU ALL got me thru this...Cubs are World Series CHAMPIONS.....and I got to share that with my son. SO grateful. Thank you Tim....I LOVE you all. so drained...so happy. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. I'm rubber, you're glue...have a nice day. Your welcome for the doubling of your game thread pages the last 2 games i was here. carry on.
  6. You never were very bright. paraphrasing: "It's idiotic to even suggest trying Colvin at 1st base" How did that "gem" work out for you..? "Soriano would be a better choice to try that with" :good: Are you talking about Tyler Colvin? The guy best known for almost getting stabbed in the heart with a bat and a career 91 OPS+ from a non-premium defensive position?! What...in the what... Hindsight after the fact and out of context....get in your time machine.
  7. You never were very bright. paraphrasing: "It's idiotic to even suggest trying Colvin at 1st base" How did that "gem" work out for you..? "Soriano would be a better choice to try that with" :good: You're somehow making even less sense. The deflection/half ass denial route...smart choice.
  8. It's called "replying"... Is this a good 'reply'? 1 pitch too many...I'm sure it didn't influence his decision from there on at all as well.
  9. I don't believe any of this makes sense even in your own head. Basically he equates feelings to facts, which means actual discussion is a non starter. Talking to the mirror again i see.
  10. So it's based on "perception" not the facts on the ground...even sillier. I don't believe any of this makes sense even in your own head. You never were very bright. paraphrasing: "It's idiotic to even suggest trying Colvin at 1st base" How did that "gem" work out for you..? "Soriano would be a better choice to try that with" :good:
  11. Much Love to youl, haterz and all.....get Montero off my screen doe.
  12. Guy can't hit a bull in the ass with a banjo yet was given that call against Bryant...smh
  13. And "they" don't get jumped on for it with personal attacks nearly as often, which is what CAUSES the back and forth....do that and i'm putting you in your place...simple as that. Because they are throwing shade when it makes sense to do so, as opposed to when you do it, which seems to be at completely random and spiteful times. So it's based on "perception" not the facts on the ground...even sillier.
  14. TERRIBLE call...what new..? horsefeathers
  15. Just pointing out the facts...the ones soaking their tampons over my doing so are the ones on the "crusade"... Just slapping them around a bit after their misguided initial attacks. Criticizing Maddon overall in a vague way seems dumb. He is clearly a good manager. You really don't need to turn up the volume on criticism simply because the board justly likes him. As you can see, everyone is more than willing to wonder wtf he's doing when he does something clearly dumb. Just look back at the last two pages if you need evidence. So stick to harping on this dumbness, not his managing in general, or the people that correctly praise him for being awesome in general. And "they" don't get jumped on for it with personal attacks nearly as often, which is what CAUSES the back and forth....do that and i'm putting you in your place...simple as that.
  16. Just pointing out the facts...the ones soaking their tampons over my doing so are the ones on the "crusade"... Just slapping them around a bit after their misguided initial attacks. I mean, I get that I suppose. But are you on here breaking down all the times he makes good calls? It just seems like it would be a never ending project. For me, Good and/or decent managers over the course of a season just don't play that much a part in wins and losses with their choices during games. Their value comes in managing the clubhouse, egos, effort, and giving proper rest, etc. Maddon is one of the best at it, which makes him a guy that seems weird to bash so much. Agreed. Only problem is with the second part...this guy micro manages FAAAR too much, feels the need to have his finger prints all over everything, everyday, on a team so loaded it doesn't need that, which flies in the face of the overall premise MANY times.
  17. Just pointing out the facts...the ones soaking their tampons over my doing so are the ones on the "crusade"... Just slapping them around a bit after their misguided initial attacks. You have presented zero facts, not even a hint of a fact. As you can see, Joe is not above criticism here, but carry on Rammy. Go blow your noes, your eyes might clear up.
  18. Careful...the ass licking society might get upset by this lack of "logic and reason" I don't get this crusade. You already have said you think Maddon is one of the best managers in the game. Just pointing out the facts...the ones soaking their tampons over my doing so are the ones on the "crusade"... Just slapping them around a bit after their misguided initial attacks.

  20. He's petrified that Zobrist will GIDP. He's mentioned this in the past. If you are so scared of this, why is he hitting 4th behind Bryant and Rizzo? How about starting the runners and getting the defense moving for once then...? Hit and runs arent illegal on the baseball field Joe. He does know this since he's the best manager on the planet and all...right..?
  21. Way to give away that out, against a guy having trouble throwing strikes, with your clean up hitter sitting in a full count "genius".
