Why is Nomar still in the game? Dusty's usage pattern thusfar suggests he believes that Nomar is fragile and should be used sparingly, but he is still playing in a blowout. I don't see any logical consistency here.

I love bringing Wood into the game. Lets see if we can create another surgical issue using his arm in meaningless games.

Next guy gets a hit, maybe he can use Z to pinch run for him??

Kerry with the 1-2-3 inning.

Careful son, might give the producers a reason to make a slight Cubs mention in the Reds' highlight package tonight on SportsCenter/BBTN.

Why complain about using wood, if he's going to be in the pen you have to use him so he stays sharp, can't wait until we are actually in a game because who know when that will be.

A logical move would be to shut him down, get surgery and be ready for Oh-Six.

But this organization lacks a lot of logic.

"Jesus, Ace where are you?!?"

"I'm in SUCKSVILLE and Dusty's the mayor!"

"You have to commit me......"

"I seem to have some trouble letting go of the game."

"That's why Kerry Wood's arm is dead! He found Mr. Dusty!!!"

*lame attempt at a dumb joke here*

Yes, your woman will be forever happy if you can keep your Wood sharp and ready to go when its needed.

That is the problem, Dusty doesn't like to use logic. If it's logical, he doesn't do it. If it's not logical, you can put money down that he'll do it.

I wish that Len wouldn't say that claussen was great tonight and just say the truth. The cubs hitters can't hit period.. But, then again Dusty might complain that Len is being to hard on the guys and that there's nothing to worry about man.

I honestly don't know what's funnier.........

watching the Cubs continually quit and suck so bad.

or

watching Chad Hutchinson run for 80 yards, only to net -3.

If it is indeed true that Wood will be shut down soon (when the Cubs fall further out), this does make some sense. You need to see if Kerry can be an effective reliever. There is a possibility (I hope a slim one) that Kerry can no longer be a starter with his arm troubles. We're stuck with him next year, let's see if he could have some utility in this role. It looks like it's not the type of injury that can get much worse with use.

A logical move is to trade Wood before he's gone in 2007 for nothing. A logical move is to not to give him another chance as a starter. Been there and done that way too many times.

And before anyone posts NO TRADE CLAUSE!!! Keep him in the pen next year, and I have a feeling his agent will tell him to accept a trade so he can start to maximize his value in free agency.

Cubs not only quit on themselves/the fans... but they quit on DLee too.

I mean, from his PoV, why keep hitting and trying for RBIs if nobody gets on for me (Walker's hit notwithstanding) or nobody else is trying to win!?

stupid dumb-*ers. Only care about themselves and their money.

What's the over/under on wins the Cubs need this season to keep Dusty as manager? Hopefully it's above 81.

If Hendry keeps Baker, the Trib should give him the axe as well. All these great trades are for nothing, if you hang onto the worse manager in the game.
